I sometimes have my mother n laws 2014 2500 Crew 4x4 Cummins and it is very impressive on comfort, that said it still is quite a beast to park and MPG is not great.
As with pretty much everyone, if you are towing, just get the HEMI you will be much happier.
I have 4th Gen 3.6 with 3.55 and it was sufficient around town, but towing it really had to work, and mpg while towing is not going to be much different than the HEMI.
I towed a few times with my 4th...
Well I ended up cleaning the interior of the Ram as between the dogs and kids, somehow a mocha cookie crumble drink thing ended up all over me, the headliner, between my front seats, uhmm well basically everywhere :ROFLMAO:
So that was a fun afternoon, then after my interior was nice a tidy...
I just thought of something in regards to aero, so my previous truck was a 2016 GMC 2wd and those trucks sit rather low in the front, especially for the 2wd. I would get amazing MPG with that truck as I left it stock. I sold the truck to my brother in law and he promptly leveled it and now he...
For sure, I reread my post and I kinda sound negative about the Ram and that was not my intention as for a truck it is aero'ish and better than most. I was thinking more of a general comparison to other vehicles on the road.
So I just took the Ram for a 4 hr round trip and managed 21.6 overall average MPG. This was on the freeway for the most part.
A few things I noted:
1. Speed, with my setup 4x4 w/ 3.92 64-66 mph is the sweet spot for the best MPG.
2. Wind/aerodynamics these new Rams are not the most aero...
I went from a loaded 2016 GMC SLT to a 2020 BigHorn. The only thing I would like to have on my BigHord would be a power passenger seat or at least manual height adjustment. My wife is 6ft and I am 6'2" and when either of us sits in the passenger seat, it feels like I am touching the headliner...
I was in the car detail biz during college and this is very normal, in fact, I would say for 70k miles, those seats look fantastic!
I advise keeping the seats clean so that dirt will not build up in the creases and condition about once a month.
You want to keep the creases/wrinkles from...
Are using wireless Apple Carplay? If so, it is total crap on any vehicle I have ever used. It does exactly what you described, very noticeable when streaming music.
That said, I have a work van, 2020 Voyager with the newer Ucconect 5 and no wireless carplay, but it will loose connection...
With my 2020 HEMI Crew 4x4. 3.92 - I see about 12-13.5 on the norm and about 17-20 on the highway.
With my 2016 GMC 5.3, 2WD, 3.42 - I would see about 14.5-15 on the norm and about 21-24 on the highway.
During winter break I did my oil change(went back to Valvoline, I was not a fan of the Penzoil Plat), cleaned the interior(kids are discussing) and my new personalized plates finally came in :)
*I know I have the dent in the bumper, I am just being lazy about getting it fixed :ROFLMAO: *
Almost sounds like bad blower motor, but the sound would be more consistent with load.
It also sounds like air trying to escape between a rubber seal of sorts.
I have noted that as well with my truck, I never gave it much thought as a majority of the air is blowing out of the defrost vents and there will always be some air bleeding through the other vents.
