My music library is about 3k songs and it takes about 3-4 minutes. I have the 8.4c radio but I don’t think would be much of a difference compared to yours.
One thing to note, I have seen tracks named with odd characters hold up indexing on USB. I would assume over Bluetooth would be similar.
It takes a few minutes for the browse feature to show up as it is catologing your music. Unfortunately, it will do that often once you use your phone’s music on another source, like headphones. Once back in the truck, catalog again.
Having that extra movement in the UCA is worth the small price compared to finding yourself off road with a popped joint. You spent a lot of money for that truck, don’t cut corners now over a few relative dollars.
I had 2 Toyota’s back in the late 80s to mid 90s. Loved those trucks. You could beat the heck out of em and they just kept going. I look at them from time to time but since going to a full size truck in 96, I could never go back. Maybe after the kids are off on their own?

If you want to make something on your own, a little cheaper but much better IMO, then look into getting a hitch extender like this one from Harbor Freight...
Nope. Definitely have to hold it a second. If I tap it like I was tapping say the front defrost button, it will not change, I have to hold it a second or so.
Have you driven in snow with it yet? Give it a test when you get a chance. I have found that 4WD can get a little squirly depending on how heavy your foot is. 4WD Auto just seems to work and work nicely no matter how aggressive I drive in the snow.
Not a dumb question at all, these new 5th gens aren’t as user friendly as they use to be. In the past, you just press the button for the mode you want. With this gen, you have to hold the button for a second or two. Make sense I guess, someone could accidentally hit a button and it would change...
I do not know what is involved in Ram’s buyback process but I did lemon law a car many years ago. That was a Chevy and GM at that time had their own “buyback” process before I pursued the Lemon Law process. They were very slow, almost purposely slow in their communication. When they did...
Polling, you cannot prove a negative. There is nowhere in the manual that says plugging in a trailer will disable the assist. It simply is not a feature of the Ram.
Sorry if you feel my comments are snarky, they are direct and answered the question. If there is one thing I’ve learned with...
