H/K audio upgrade - VAST Improvment

Thanks… that’s what I’m using now, the Mobile Tools app. It’s definitely a major improvement, and getting better with every adjustment, dont get me wrong! hopefully, as I get more experience tuning, I’ll work it out. (But I also think that as I do, I’ll just want more to play with..lol)

H/K audio upgrade - VAST Improvment

I feel this…. Finally got my subs in a couple weeks ago. Now that all the speakers are in, and Im learning how to use the DSP, I’m quickly starting to wish I would have gone with a DSP with more functionality than the Kenwood XR600. Even though I’m still a total novice, The 13 band eq and 3...

What's Behind The Rear Seat (and How Did It Get There)?

Yes, especially, as mentioned, if you don’t have reclining rear seats. Quite a few bolts that have to come out, including some that you need an e-torx socket for.

Let's see those running boards/side steps

Put AMP Powersteps on after I had the lift installed - prior to that had Mopar steps (those are now for sale- fit quad cab, like new condition, make me an offer!)

AMP Powerstep issue (recent install) - won't deploy after sitting for a few hours

Yes, it works off the OBD plug (not hardwired). The controller is mounted under the hood, near the battery. So, maybe the controller has already gone bad?

AMP Powerstep issue (recent install) - won't deploy after sitting for a few hours

Model -#AMP76240-01A The wiring is exactly as per the instruction manual, Here's a link https://www.amp-research.com/images/ePIM/original/AMPIS-76240.pdf There is an in-line fuse coming off the battery. The reason I mention that, is because that seems (in my semi-ignorant opinion) to...

AMP Powerstep issue (recent install) - won't deploy after sitting for a few hours

Hi all - Installed my steps a few weeks ago (self-install). Have worked perfectly since the install, zero issues, up until the last few days. Then Monday, when I was leaving work, they didn't deploy. Everything else hooked up to the battery was fine. Amp's fired up, etc. When I stopped at...

For those with 6 speaker base stereo who have upgraded-What speaker did you use?

I can’t speak to the kickers.. but those are the CDT 6x9s I recently purchased. They dropped right in to the front doors with no mods required (other than the wiring harnesses), and sound fantastic.

What did you do to your Ram today???

Got quite a bit done this weekend. Swapped out the tweeter and mid components I had in the dash and front doors for CDT Unity widebands in the dash, and CDT 6x9s in the doors. Added some additional sound deadening while I had the door panels off, and ran new wires for the dash speakers, just...

For those with 6 speaker base stereo who have upgraded-What speaker did you use?

I have the 6 Cyl, so no ANC to deal with.. But, I also removed the stock amp, so it would have been a non-issue anyway. lol. Good luck, hope they work for you! I'm planning to put mine in tomorrow.

    Alternative to Rockford Fosgate DSR1?

So, after all this time, I’m getting close to having everything installed. The Fox box has been on order for two months. Finally shipped yesterday, and should be here Monday. I wasnt happy with the tweeters in the dash, so ordered a pair of Unity 8.0 widerange drivers from CDT, and am putting...

For those with 6 speaker base stereo who have upgraded-What speaker did you use?

I just picked up a pair of CDT CL-69S 6x9s on sale from their website. I’m going to be putting them in the front doors, but they are supposed to give a decent mid/bass response. What you may want to consider, that would help even more, is add some sound deadening treatment to all 4 doors...

    Tweeter orientation (in dash)

I know you did this a while ago - but do you remember how much space there was behind the sail panels to add your tweeters? before I take everything apart, it would be nice to know how much depth I need behind the flush mount…. thanks!

    Tweeter orientation (in dash)

Good point… I never have anyone in the back. Hellll, I’ve had the rear seats out of the truck for the last 2 months. Lol.

    Tweeter orientation (in dash)

Thanks. That was my other consideration, mounting tweeters somewhere in the panel (similar to yours) , and putting the Inf 3032s back in the dash. But, I’m running a 6 channel amp + DSP, currently 2 each for dash (tweeters) , front doors, and rear doors), and if I do that, Id have to install...

Bit the bullet - ordered AMP research power steps

That makes sense Same here. I specifically bought the AMP steps when I had my lift installed, because of how much lower they went than most most fixed steps/boards.

Bit the bullet - ordered AMP research power steps

Not for AMP.. You just stand on the step while you close the door, and they stay down. Then they close next time you open/close the door. No big deal. But if as mentioned above, dealer installed is $1200, that's a great deal! I think the cheapest I saw was close to $2000 installed?

Bit the bullet - ordered AMP research power steps

In all honesty, the lights aren’t absolutely necessary, either - the lights under the mirrors (puddle lights?) do a pretty good job lighting up the steps. But, I ran led strips, instead of the lights that came with the steps, to make it a little different, anyway (And avoid drilling).

Bit the bullet - ordered AMP research power steps

This is the #1 reason I went with AMP, I wanted the lights. I also wanted to install myself, and the plug and play version of the AMP steps is pretty easy to do. The touch screen control would be ok, but I doubt I would have ever really used it, at least not enough to be worth the trade off...
