Driver's seat is brutal!

Put some goose feathers in there

For whatever reason I cannot get this seat positioned so it doesn't absolutely kill me on a drive longer than 5 minutes. It's very uncomfortable which causes me to constantly adjust my body position. The first issue is how stiff the side supports on the seat BOTTOM are. It affects me on my left side, and it almost feels like there's a baseball in that portion of the support. Eventually my left leg in the hamstring area will start to bother me and it'll get progressively worse, trickle into my lower back and it's completely downhill from there. I put about an hour of seat time in yesterday and by the time I got back home I was physically exhausted from the discomfort and pain. As soon I get out of that seat, there's a huge relief!

It's in the back of my mind that perhaps I have something going on with my back, nerve, something. But the only time any of this is experienced is when I am driving this truck. I'm not sure there is a seat position combination that I haven't tried aside from being so far up and back that I cannot reach the pedals. Perhaps quality control and or the manufacturing process of a batch of these seats was lacking? I'm not exactly a large human, being 5'10" on a good day, and weighing in at 230#. I couldn't imagine being 6'3" 275+ with how narrow the seat bottoms are when factoring in the side supports.

I really want to like this truck, but it's literally painful to drive. Has anyone seen or dealt with a similar issue? There are just north of 5500 miles on the truck at this point, and I was hoping the seat just needed some break in time, but if anything it has gotten worse. Equivalent to sitting on your wallet (which I carry in my right pocket, and never sit on it). I need to stop in at the dealership and express my concern. Unsure how quickly they will tell me to kick rocks but I'm certainly discouraged with this being my first new vehicle, paying nearly 60k and its the worse driving experience I've ever had, and that includes some real POS vehicles, lol. Hell, squeezing into my in-laws 2003 Miata is more pleasurable than the seat of this truck!

Truck in question is a 2022 Rebel Crew cab with the cloth/vinyl seats
I just bought a 2026 bighorn and I have the same issue on the driver side. Took it to the dealer today and the maintenance Forman and service advisors felt the spot and see that it’s definitely an issue BUT all the trucks have the same issue. It’s a design flaw and the piece from what I can tell is molded into the foam cushion. Now what is the purpose the that piece and how can we fix it without causing issues down the road. We are gonna find out. My left hip isn’t gonna survive this for much longer.

Damn. I don’t wanna get old. I clicked this thread because I thought it related to my OCD when setting my seat. My seat got moved by someone last week and it nust isnt the same. I have to exert extra force to turn the air down. Before i only had to reach about a foot. Now its like 14 inchee…. Yes. Its that bad.
Memory should be available on all models dammit.

I am in the same boat. The side bolsters in my 2026 Laramie feel like I am sitting on a baseball bat. I took some advice from the group and went to a local upholstery shop. The owner was very helpful (except when he asked if I had actually test drove the truck - I did but don't remember the seat being painful) He said if he shaved off any of the bolster it would look like "socks on a chicken" to much leather not enough foam. I plan on trying to adjust the seat and drive it for a while - it only has 1k miles. If that doesn't work, I may try him again except instead of shaving the bolster ask if he can add some padding to raise the seat between the bolsters. Any other experience with upholstery shop fixes would be helpful.

While I was getting my trailer brake controller recall done, I checked out some of the seats in the 2500's. (mostly Laramie for the leather seats). I did not feel the same hard bolster materials in the driver seats, they seemed way more comfortable. I always assumed they were the same seats as the 1500's, but maybe they are not. I wonder if the foam can be swapped.

24 laramie, and have the baseball lump in an Ozzie RH drive but in my right thigh. Very annoying.
