2025 Ram 1500 Current Owners - Discussion, Feedback, and Problems

Well, I'm glad the potential fault has been determined, but I wonder if the problem also lies in another part/system. I find that the module must be replaced vs. being reprogrammed is interesting. This gives me a higher confidence that the module design/manufacuter error has been determined as the root cause. A one-and-done repair. So, also this new part will also be put into the new build process as well. So this will also add to the quality control information on the above repair/solution and potentially give definitive answers faster as to the validity of the solution being implemented.

Is there a Mopar part number given for the faulty part number(s). I have added a true Mopar part myself and programmed the add with my AlphaOBD system, and it seems to be working well, but I have not plugged in a trailer to verify operation. I have also not paid the dealer to add my work to the truck build, so I, and many others, will not get that benefit.
So I will be monitoring the results of this switch.
But I'm a bit confused as the old vs. new syestem design should not invlove the my 24 and younger systems. It is my understanding that the new electrical system is using a newly designed trailer brake module vs. model year 24 and older systems. This is where the problem of the unseen Ice Berg lies; there are an undetermined number of owners, like myself, who have added a true Mopar part from a true Mopar parts dealer (aka dealer). I am wondering if an owner can produce a bill of sale for Mopar parts if we could get the new improved module to self-install, as it would be a swap-out part switch with no change in programming required. Just the difficulty of reaching the module under the dash, physically difficult for me, but your mileage may vary. It could be an hour or less, but the largest variable is the physical ability to reach and uninstall/reinstall the module itself.

Had an ARE truck cap installed and I wanted the vehicle to be able to lock and unlock the rear hatch. The dealer said he has done a couple of '24's but the 25's wiring harness is different. After the holidays, ARE tech got back with updated wiring diagram. He can get the lock portion to work, but the unlock doesn't. The wiring diagram shows an unlock line, but he gets voltage on the line (it is a bit low) when both lock and unlock are pressed. He has probed the entire wire harness on the passenger door without luck. Any techs out there want to comment?View attachment 195486
SAme problem here. On my 2021 with the electric tailgate lock, it was easy...I just tapped into the lines in the tailgate. On my 2025, supposedly the lines are located in the harness under the rear passenger door on the left side under the carpet (they feed up into the door to operate that lock. I haven't had time to check it cut that sounds correct to me.

Well after a few early glitches including a leaky heater core, this truck seems to be everything I hoped it would be. Just did a 400 mile round trip in complete comfort, averaging just under 80 mph with the truck in hands free driving 90% of the time and just under 24 MPG. My 2021 Limited never came close to that mileage 17MPG was about the best it could do with a 5.7 with e torque.

As a former F150 owner was sent notice from Ford of the same issue basically with the same wording and start date. Is it possible both Manufactures used the same supplier for a very similar functioning part?

Per a google search.

( Ford is recalling over 4.3 million vehicles, including 2021-2026 F-150s, Super Duties, Mavericks, Rangers, and Expeditions, due to
a software flaw in the Integrated Trailer Relay Module (ITRM). The glitch may cause a loss of trailer brake lights, turn signals, or brake function, increasing crash risks. A free over-the-air software update will be provided, with letters starting in March 2026. )

My understanding Ford can fix theirs via software and Stellantis has to replace actual components.
