2025 Ram 1500 Current Owners - Discussion, Feedback, and Problems

Thanks, I'm going to have a warranty inspection done.
Let us know what they say.
I plan on ordering a Laramie in a couple months. The only reason I am going Laramie instead of Big Horn is to get a power passenger seat. You can get just about any other option on the BH, but no power passenger seat.
Seems like all the car companies make you spend more on a higher trim package to get the power seat. There is no reason the power seat cannot be made an option since all the wiring is probably there.

Here's what worked for me to reset oil level after oil change;
wait one day, warm up engine for an hour, turn off, turn on without starting engine, turn off after about 2 minutes, start engine and oil light is off and display shows accurate oil level.

Yes. But the question is: Why? What’s the reason behind that decision?
I can’t figure it out. Or why the interior lighting stays on while the gate’s down.
For the lights, I’d say lazy programming (since the gate locks and unlocks with the door) for the charger… your gues is as good as mine

The Google Robot said this:
  • Key Fob/NFC Interference Mitigation: One of the most cited technical reasons for this specific behavior in newer vehicles across several brands (not just Ram) is preventing the electromagnetic field of the Qi charger from interfering with the Near Field Communication (NFC) or the passive entry/key fob detection systems. The truck needs to reliably detect where the key fob is (inside vs. outside the vehicle) to operate correctly. Disabling the charger during an "open door" state helps ensure accurate key detection.
But, also, it claims the interior light on with tailgate open is likely an intentional act to let you really know the gate is open 🤷🏻‍♂️🤨

This explanation seems reasonable. Everything can be improved, but the engineers made this choice.

The thing that I don't understand is why I can't turn off the trunk light (the one above the third brake light) in any way I've tried.

I mean: "turn off the light permanently until I will need it."

Has anyone heard of "Purge Valve Disconnect" recall, with recall number 90C ?

In my Ram app, I now have a "Campaign Satisfaction" tile between the Vehicle Report and Digital Glovebox tiles. It has a date of 12 November 2025 on the bottom of the tile. When I select the tile, I get a number of choices, with "Customer Satisfaction Notices" highlighted as having one item to check. Selecting this brings up a page that says "Parts Available". There is a link for "view PDF" and a Submit Reimbursement button. For the first few weeks, these were both dead-end links. Just yesterday I tried again, and this time it brought up a notification that I should bring the truck into a dealer to have the purge valve hose replaced.
A quick search online and I found TSB 09-025-25. Later today I'll pull the engine cover and check the hose. Supposedly I can check the color of a band on the latch to determine if it needs to be replaced.

I'm wondering why I had to stumble across this issue on an app on my phone, instead of being notified by some more direct means.

It's not a recall. Mine has not come off and has been tight every time I've checked it. The hose on my truck ends in AD

Technically not a safety recall, true. This is a Customer Service Notice (CSN) (or campaign). The Mopar Recall site, https://www.mopar.com/en-us/my-vehicle/recalls/search.html, is their clearing house website for safety recalls, emission recalls, customer satisfaction notices, and warranty extensions. This is an issue with the vehicle, and will be checked and repaired if necessary at no cost to the owner. Semantics aside, it's a type of recall.

I'll attach the notice I received and the related TSB.

I'm happy for you that hose has not come off and is tight. My truck has been driving fine, as well - but I checked the purge valve hose latch for the proper color, and found that it's dark gray and should be replaced. So while it's ok today, there's a risk that it might not be tomorrow. Or maybe when I'm some distance from home on a long trip. I'd rather follow the TSB and have it replaced. Note that there are two issues covered by this notice/TSB - the purge valve hose and the canister purge tube. The hose is identified by color (shades of gray, unfortunately), and the tube is identified by p/n, as you noted. Did you check the color of the HOSE latch on your truck, in addition to the p/n of the TUBE ?

Mine is gray, I've got the updated part number and I'll buy the hose when it's more readily available. Not worth spending a few hours for the dealership service to diagnose it, order the hose then have me bring the truck in a 2nd time.
