PARK SENSE/SERVICE SHIFTER CODES

I just started having the service parking sensors / front sensors unavailable message last week, every time I start and shift to forward. Glad I stumbled upon this thread. For S&Gs I pulled out the star connector and removed all the connectors and reseated them but it did not solve the issue. Was thinking maybe it was a bad connection and to try that before buying a part, but I can tell you that is not the issue. Looks like it is an issue in the star module itself. Ill order one and report back after I swap it. Are you guys using mopar parts or 3rd party. I see aftermarkets for around $50. Edit*81k miles for reference.

Well the new star connector showed up but my front sensor issue seems to have cleared itself up after a deep clean / front scrub. Apparently there were a lot of dead bugs on there from a 500mi roadtrip. So my issue is resolved for now but im keeping the star connector on hand as it is apparently a known weak point in the canbus system.

I got it from amazon, works good.

Thank you, thank you, THANK YOU!

I have been dealing with parking sensor alerts for the past 8 months. The first time I took it to a dealer, I was told I had a bad battery despite having just replaced it 6 months prior. AutoZone was kind enough to replace it for free despite passing all tests. On the 2nd visit, I was told it might be the parking control module which would cost $470 installed. I opted to continue dealing with the audible alert on the console. But recently I've been reconsidering the fix (even though there were no guarantees by dealer that it would work). I was actually on this forum for something unrelated when I saw a link to this thread.

All the glowing reviews convinced me to give the CAN BUS-CONNECTOR a try. Like the last commenter, I purchased it on Amazon for ~$45, it shipped in a day, and I replaced it earlier this week. I have not had a single false alert all week. If I weren't an unemotional male, I might cry. :P

The only suggestion I would add: be sure to have a thin screwdriver to depress the plastic tab for each connection. I tried to use various other objects at first which resulted in frustration. Once I switched to a screwdriver designed for computer repairs, the switch out was a breeze.
