Realtruck.com probs; stay away!

Well, I read this thread way too late. Ordered a cover from them with "rapid shipping." Did not get the order processed, let alone shipped, on-time, so I cancelled it. The order is "pending cancellation," but they money is not back in my account. Will reach out to the bank shortly.

But wait, there is more.

Got a cover from another company. The deal was good, but the cover was not. I did not want to bother the vendor, so reached out to the manufacturer as indicated on the warranty card. Turns out, "Real Truck" is the manufacturer or the warranty provider. No word from them.

Did more digging, and it sounds like what some of you suspected -- Real Truck is a retail conglomerate with focus on marketing and distribution. You're not buying from mom-and-pop off-road or truck enthusiasts. The folks behind the company are corporate suits backed by private equity. And I mean, suits:

While I can install a truck cover in under 30 minutes, I will probably go with a Line-X cover + shop installation to get lifetime warranty and local folks who can help with any issues. The local Line-X support store promptly replies to my email, and that's what counts for any purchase over $500.
Take a good look at the Line X covers. Fairly certain they are rebranded. Best wishes on your purchase,

ACCESS Roll Up Tonneau Covers | Pickup Truck Bed Cover Lineup I believe this company and Diamon Back covers are not owned by Truck Hero.

@Jako - thank you, you just answered my next question about covers that aren't Truck Hero associated. And yes, Line-X is most definitely rebranded, but lifetime warranty and having access to local shop helps.

Thanks for the info on Line X warranty. I have a Bak Flip out of warranty that leaks some. Not all Bak Flips doing. Part of the leak problem is the design of the Ram bed. My 2001 Dodge Ram 1500 had no issues with leaks. I use an Extang snap cover on that and the covers hold up about 10 years. I've tried 4 different covers on my 2019 and they all leak, again not all the fault of the covers. The Bak seems to fit my needs but I never drive with the cover against my back window with all the issues members have with leaking rear windows.

Wow, wish I had read this thread first.....ordered a windshield shade on 23 July....rapid ship.....when my order was still "pending" on Aug 1st, I requested assistance on their website. Bot told me it would take 5 days to locate the order, and find out where it was. I thought that was a ridiculous response, so I cancelled the order. Here we are on 21st Aug and it still states pending cancellation on their website. What a terrible buying experience with zero customer service. Filed a claim with BBB,and their response was .....once the cancellation is approved they will refund my money. Currently they have had my money for nearly a month, with no sign of product or refund, or any reasonable reason why. I for one will never order anything again from this company....what a sham. Luckily I'm only out $60 instead of those who have paid much more.....

I bought from Realtruck a year ago and the wind deflectors didn't fit. Customer service couldn't understand the problem and manager seemed afraid to come to the phone. Ultimately they decided I was doing something wrong.

The worst part was their attitude. I truly think they care if the customer is happy or not. I am done with them.

I totally agree.....ordered about $400 from this company. They have a slick website, customer service is very polite but they don't solve ANY issues. The two interior parts I ordered for my 2024 Ram 1500 Limited (door cup storage and center console divider) was complete junk. Door cup don't snap in place or fit very well. $28 down the tube. The center console divider fits perfectly but all the rubber pad to keep things from sliding around fall out as soon as you lift the top portion of the console. I had to clue them in myself. Oh, don't bother putting coins in the coin slots. Quarters fit perfectly, but as soon as you lift the top portion of the console...they all fall out. There is not to hold the coins in place. I put this item in the junk category. Last but not least I ordered a Tuffy Security lid for my in floor storage compartment in the back seat floorboard ($129). Got here...no installation hardware, no keys, no instructions. Contacted American Truck Customer service. Had to take a few pics, they said the needed parts would be shipped out in 2-3 days. Nope, they weren't. When they did arrive, it had the hardware, the instruction but the wrong keys. GRRRRRRR... I have spent over 4 hours on the phone, in their chat and still don't have anything put promises. Sketchy corporate trail where you can find out who really owns the company. I filed a BBB complaint but I am not hopeful that will get me anywhere. So I now have a $129 paperweight. UGGGGHHHHH. AVOID...they sound good but don't waste your money.

Similar stuff has been said about them on the f150 site I frequent.

I went to a local truck outfitters and ordered the Realtruck Undercover Armor Flex hard cover with carpeted underside. They had it in a few days and did the install (I got the install for free since I helped). The issue I had was the front clips on top that buckle the top down when folded were missing from the package. Luckily they found some in the shop.
The shop stated it is a constant issue with them (Realtruck).
I knew something wasn't right during install because the girl doing it was struggling to get the rails locked down. I didn't see it at the time but I knew something wasn't right. When the cover was put in place, the rubber seal along the edge sat a little high and didn't seal. I went home and took it all off. What she failed to do was slide the cover system rail inside the silver bed rails. Instead she placed it right on top. Once I corrected that, the cover sat flush along the edges as it was designed to do and it looks like it's a factory part of the truck. It's lightweight and holds up to 300lbs. I love it. It isn't exactly water tight at the tailgate but I don't care.

I've used them many times, always called, their sales people always play lets make a deal, gotten great prices and never a problem.
