So far this morning I replaced the front axle lock actuator and front diff fluid. First drive and was still getting service 4wd light trying to engage 4wd and it would never make the switch took actuator back off and verified the forks were in the collar. They appeared to be out it back in with bolts hand right and tried again, just sitting in driveway. It made the shift to 4wd without issue. Torqued bolts down, topped off the fluid again. Sitting in driveway again, out truck in driveway and triwd to engage 4wd. Light just flashed and never made the changed. Pulled out of driveway and tried again while moving and it shifted fine. Guess there was just enough tension sitting still, with it in drive, to not make the shift. But it appears to be working properly now. Will see if I keep getting service 4wd light over the next few days if driving. On the factory actuator, it must have gotten hit at some point when off roading. This spot on the actuator is loose and a few months ago I actually had to use my channel locks to squeeze it back together as there was 1/8" gap where it looked like one of rhe rivits had started to pop out.

Had some new shoes put on the other day. I’m trying out the ever popular Michelin Defender LTX MS/2. Hopefully they live up to their reputation.

finished up installing my Bilstein 4600's . it's a rwd truck they will be more than enough for the street. my truck has 72k on it. could be all in my head??? it seems like takes bumps better than new? after all this talk of flushing brake fluid in another thread i figured wile i had the wheel's off i might as well do that. original pads and rotors so i assume the cap has never off. i was met with BLACK FLUID so more than 32oz of fluid later she has clear fluid all the way through now. front pads are fine the outside rear pads are pretty worn, the inside looks good....so i ended up ordering front and rear bosh pads from rock. for 75 shipped. i should be good for another 70k.

no it's not in your head lol it does perform better due to different valving than stock suspension.
enjoy the improved ride quality!

Been running them for about 10Kmi now. Frustrated with OE Duratracs sliding around on wet roads. Quieter than the Dtracs and more stable in wet conditions. Added some white lettering accent.

Removed puck and put Bilstein 5100s on a couple weeks ago. Then got rub, so been out today with a heat gun, etc giving clearance. Did not rub when puck was on, but was inch higher, I wanted about 1 inch lower in front to help squat when towing, the bilsteins in front have one notch it can go up. Replaced cabin air filter, was kind of a pain getting glove box out, filter was really dirty.

I personally hate the OEM Struts/shocks as it wallows around like a boat. I'm looking forward to swapping my suspension. Bilstein are a great choice.

Both awesome trucks but I have a soft spot for that generation Dakota & Durango. Especially one R/T flavored. Looks great.

I realize a lot of peeps hate HOAs, however, if you lived next door to the trashy axx dude I live next to, you’d pray for one! I live out of the city limits in Joshua, Tx and this clown next door for almost 20 years hasn’t painted, planted a bush or shrub, tossed some white axx dusty rock as a driveway that gets all over my cars and truck daily, and continues to make our nice neighborhood look worse and worse regularly! Nicest guy in the world, but dumb as a box of rocks! Has no clue what his filthyness does to all our home values. So many things I wanna say about him here but it’ll get taken down quickly. So count your blessings for your HOA. Wish I had one!

I can definitely appreciate your stance. However, as someone who once lived in an HOA, two wrongs don’t make a right. The correct answer is actual code enforcement. I know that gets really tough if you are way out in some county jurisdiction.

All the Karen’s and John’s make for HOA living to be overly restrictive and aggressive.

I know what you mean. We live in a fairly desirable neighborhood up on the side of a hill overlooking hills, valley and a lake. The house next to us used to win yard and garden awards till the new owners bought it a few years ago. What once was beautiful is now weeds in the front and 4’ tall thistles in the back. I don’t think he’s watered his grass in 3 years and only cuts down the weeds on his side in our adjoining yard about once a summer. I cut my grass and leave his dandelions. In this pic it had been raining so his is green yet.
It really tics me off, as we care about our property and are proud of it.
