5 Inch to 8.4 Inch Upgrade

Do you think it would fit directly or would it require a different harness since it’s biggers in dimension?
Something wrong with me... At first I thought I was reading a scam P enlargment post, then I wondered if he was thinking of trading GF's...

I am also trying to upgrade from a 5 inch. Non nav one zone. 2019 ram rebel. Really struggling to find something that isn't $1700.
It is not had to find the parts online
Look here or fb marketplace or ebay.
Smart shopping rules always apply….
Radio screen/module, bezel, adapter harness, maybe hvac module.
@Jimmy07 is a great resource…

Thanks! It’s been hard to sort through which ones are compatible etc.

Hoping someone can help. I have a 2019 2500 that I changed the 5” to the 8.4” I lost the backup camera guideline function and steering wheel phone function. When selecting the guideline function it just unchecks itself. Has anyone run in to this or know how to fix this?
Was this ever solved? Having the exact same issue. I know it was posted some time ago, but just asking. Thanks.

I bought 2020 Rebel that came equipped with UConnect 3 with a 5 inch display but the included preferred Package (27W) upgraded to a 8.4 inch touchscreen display. I want to upgrade the system with the Infotainment OEM CD player but am concerned about compatibility. I talked with their customer service but they seemed confused and couldn't give e a definitive answer. Has anyone done this or know of a distributor who would have the package I need to add this feature?

Has anyone had any issues with CarPlay not working on a VP2_8.4 unit? I upgraded my 2019 RAM 2500 Bighorn from a 5" VP2_5 HDCC (68399190AF) head unit to an 8.4" VP2_8.4 HDCC SXM (68428584AC) head unit out of 2020 RAM 3500 and CarPlay doesn't seem to pop up when I plug my iPhone 14 Pro Max running iOS 18.3.2 into the center console media hub (tried both Apple original USB-A to lightning and USB-C to lightning cables). Do I need to buy a different center console media hub for CarPlay to work? One oddity is that the new head unit had 2 USB mini ports on the back, one with a black connector and one with a gray connector. My old stereo only had the gray connector and I only had 1 USB cable with the gray connector, so that's all I hooked up. I'm still waiting on a universal converter to adapt my blue FAKRA C LVDS cable to the yellow/curry FAKRA K LVDS cable. Instead of buying the one from Infotainment (shipping was crazy expensive), I got a universal one from Amazon (Amazon.com). I think it should serve the same function?

Also, when I upgraded, I did get the message to provide the code to unlock the stereo and gave the local dealership the VIN for my 2019 RAM 2500 and the serial number for the new head unit. The code they gave me did unlock the unit, so I assume that was okay? I did see some comments where people provided the VIN from the donor vehicle instead to get the unlock code. Any difference in that?

And, one final thing, I'm getting a message that the Backup camera system is unavailable. I've read some reports that there may be an incompatibility with cameras here, but I'm hoping not...
