Has anyone added a factory trailer brake controller to a 2025 yet?

So I just purchased a 2025 Rebel X with the 14.4” radio without the trailer brake control. I wanted the OEM one and had a lot of confusion about it as well. However now it is installed and working properly!

2025 changed the wiring. Both module location and plugs are not where they were in 2024. There is only 1 plug behind the radio and the module is behind the passenger rear seat. You also need the correct 2025 trailer brake switch and module for your model radio.

This Mopar seller on eBay was extremely helpful and will pull up your vin to sell you the correct parts since there is a national back order going through the dealer. I ordered the Mopar parts from him and brought it to the dealer and they installed it and flashed the truck.

The one I got was for the 14.4

Good luck!
Ok so the "warning" on the emopar site is incorrect re: the two plugs behind the dash in that it is still referencing 2024 and previous design. That clears up my confusion if so. Thanks! And I'm glad yours is up and running!

Depending on who your dealer is, many techs have not installed the controller on a 2025. The physical installation behind the rear seat is not an issue,
In my case 7 months or so ago, The tech's challenge was programming it to the truck. This was the first one he had ever done!
The challenge for him to have the controller to talk to the truck. It took him half a working day! Got it done and it has been working since then.

Did the Tech mention on the issue or what he had to do? Mine had trouble as well doing it so just curious.

No details -- he just said it was a b...h to pair.
Interesting. I'll relay it next time I bring it in, but that was his main argument in me not having all the required materials (the wiring) even though...we can see that I do. Was that it would not proxy align. Thanks for the info!

What is the part number for the 14.4’s TBC switch? Or the whole kit, whatever you got?

Quick post to follow up on my adventure. I'll annotate this in the other TBC thread as well since I sort of hijacked that one as well with my drama. I ended up taking the truck to a second dealer after the first did not seem open to continuing to try and proxy align after installing the TBC and switch (I already had the correct wires). The second dealership had no issues getting it to work and I received it back yesterday. I had the wires indicated as required in this thread and ordered the TBC and switch listed. No indication as to why one tech doing the alignment worked over another, but it is what it is. I want to thank everyone here for their input!

Could be as simple as following directions, OR knowing a caveat that isn’t in the directions 🤷🏻‍♂️

How do I find out if I have the correct cable or not? These dealers don’t seem to know anything and I have to get this figured out and help is greatly appreciated.

The 2025 Ram 1500 brake controller for the 14.4" screen comes available in May!!! Part # 82219232AA

I just got done installing the 82219232aa brake controller (14 inch screen). When I installed the switch, I had to remove the existing bottom one piece trim panel which took up the whole width. The brake controller now occupies 1/3 of that space, it would appear I need a filler panel to fill in the remaining 2/3 of the space. Do you know what that part number would be? As you mentioned the kit came with 3-parts, the switch, module and wiring - No filler plate. I don't have faith the parts person at my dealer will be able to locate the correct part...
Thanks!!!

I forgot the mention, it is a 2025 Rebel X

@azzx If you want to pin this info to your OP:

If you have a cable harness coming out of the existing TBC module with a tag saying PN: 68601443AA (the part number tag for the harness can be seen from under the rear seats), you only need part numbers:
68569520AB: TBC Module
68618899AA: Switch
And for the dealer to program your VIN.

If you don’t have that cable installed, you’ll need the full kit along with getting it added to your VIN.

The full kit is PN 82219240aa, which is on back order, includes the above 3 parts (cable, switch & module),
I’m curious how to do this on a Big Horn without reclining seats
I have the correct cable behind the seat; another user here said he had the correct cable number, but did not have the switch wires, I pulled the radio out and there are two red plug ins available, one six pin and one 10 pin, are these the plugs required for the dash switch? Enclosed is a photo of the plugs.

10 pin is for trailer brake switch. 6 pin is for trailer reverse steering knob.

Edit: It looks like that harness matches, so I think i'm good, hopefully dealer has what is needed from the plain bar across the bottom of the uConnect screen like qwerty above has.

I just got my first RAM - 2025 Rebel with the 14" screen, and unfortunately overlooked it lacking the OEM trailer brake. I have to run back to the dealer tomorrow to finish up some stuff, and I am going to ask about getting this installed, but I've tried to follow along with all the part numbers listed here and mine don't seem to match. The photos look similar, just PN's are different.

PN 68602158AD pulls up nothing when searched on Google
PN 68601443AA shows jumper wiring, which I believe is different from any of the other PN listed in previous comments.

I saw that thread, just read over it again, but still confused whether you can get the parts to install the switch on the 14" screens. It looks like PN 68618899AA would be the correct PN for the 14" screens. Someone said the part was supposed to be available mid-Feb, so hopefully that is the case.

I tried getting the plug off to look to make sure I had all the pins on the plug, but even after flipping the little red tab up, I couldn't get it out and wasn't sure which way it even came out.

Hopefully the dealer will have some answers tomorrow, but from everything I'm reading on here, I'm not overly confident.

EDIT:
It looks like PN's are what is needed for the 14" screen. Which I think is what was said in the other thread as well.

P/N 82219240AA was the correct kit for my truck. I had the dealership install the kit ($390) as there were no instructions with the kit and I didn't want to mess with taking out the back seat to replace the controller, which they did swap out with a module that came with the truck. Brake controls and trailer set up are through the radio. The pre trip trailer light self test does not appear to be available but I haven't hooked my trailer up yet so we'll see.
Saw online that it did it automatically on TFL.
