2025 RAM 1500 BIGHORN 3.0 I HURRICANE twin-turbo, SO, 420HP - check engine light

I don't know. Did they buy yours back, paying you back all money you spent on payments?

I ended up settling with just money back. Pretty much enough to cover my negative equity so I went in and traded it in.

Ah, gotcha. I'm insisting on a buy back, and everything I've paid on payments so far. I'm also going to try for at least some money for the months of insurance payments.

Yeah I probably could have gone that route too, but I got impatient quickly and settled out. I'm still happy with what I got and with the new ride. Hope y'all get everything figured out!

GMC didn't hammer the **** out of you on trade in because of the problems with the ram, or did they know? I went ahead and bought another truck, too. I got a '24 regular cab short bed f150, with absolutely no options except the running boards. It came with the coyote engine and 3.73 gears, that's the only way they come. Will hopefully put a whipple on it later on.

Damn that's going to be a beast!

I spoke to a few dealers but gave them all the details and finally found a dealer that didn't care enough plus gave me a great deal. In the end I rolled over all the negative equity I had and kept the money from Ram in my pocket. It wasn't bad in my opinion so that's why I didn't put the money down. Payment with the negative equity went up less than 100 dollars. Meh..

Well, sounds like that worked out pretty well. I'm having to make two truck payments, but the ford was waaaay cheaper than the ram, plus I got a screaming idiot interest rate on the ford (2.49%).

I bought a 2025 Ram 1500 laramie left the dealership with 39 miles on it.Battery was dead before I looked at the truck they charged it up thought everything was ok. Check Engine light came on before i could make it home. contacted the dealer and was told they replaced the battery and the light should go off within a couple of days. been driving it everyday still didnt go off. went to go get tint on it and the tint guy came out and asked if i had a kill switch on it. the battery died while they were tinting the truck. they charged light went off drove down the street the light came back on. Truly disappointed

How do you like the 3.0 Duramax?

Love it. Should have went this route when I went truck shopping. Averaging out about 25.6 mpg daily and the torque is amazing! Love the sound of the engine and I can hear the turbo spool up. I’m about to change the charge pipe and intake tube which should let me hear that turbo a bit more too! Excited

I just got rid of one of those pieces of junk....good riddance!

How are you. You are the original poster for the ram truck problems dude. I traded a 2022 scat pack wide body 2021 ram built to serve in anvil color very rare.My new truck was 80000 out door then dealer took 10000 off i ended up financing 20000 after money i made on trade in and i am pissed just like you.No cels all updates so far and my truck surges bad i can only drive super slow or super fast. But what is crazy when its cold out drives perfect. When its above 50 degrees surge city. i have been waiting for a post from you its been a long time i was hoping your problems were fixed.
Mine is still surging also! I definitely noticed the same thing when its cold it runs great! 40 degrees or higher it surges at 1000-2000 rpm still. I’m starting to think i might replace the o2 sensors myself since ram doesn’t know what’s going on.

I registered to the forum to tell my story.

Bought a 2025 1500 Big Horn in August (March 2024 build). From the moment I drove it off the lot, it gave me parking sensor warnings. Later, I started getting other electrical bugs like "crash avoidance" offline, adaptive cruise offline, the blue screen of death, and intermittent "trailer disconnected" warnings. Once, a secondary battery went bad and caused the truck to shut down and almost leave me stranded. Also had a bad strut (leaking) sprinkled in there. With each service visit, the code reader would report 10+ stored codes. It spent 61 of it's first 100 days of ownership in the shop, and the dealer had to get engineering involved, which was a slow process.

I've been through buyback processes before, so I know how it works. Even though my state has a pretty clear rule about it (30 days in the first year, or 3+ attempts of the same issue), I knew Stellantis would fight me. It's frankly good business, as 90% of those asking for a buyback will go away when told "no" the first time. So, once I hit the 30+ days mark, I got an attorney who only gets paid through the settlement. Long story short, we just settled with a buyback in which Stellantis pays purchase price and all fees - including finance charges, processing fees, taxes, registration, and my attorney. They even paid for all aftermarket accessories I chose to leave on the truck. The process was relatively painless, though you have to be patient; I'm in month five and, though we have settled on a dollar figure, I'm still awaiting the exact time and date for the surrender and payout.

All that told . . . I liked the truck aesthetics, features, ride, etc. I just don't have faith in that particular truck. Also, I realize every manufacturer has issues with a percentage of its vehicles; though it had been 13 years, I have gone down this road with Ford, and I also went down this road with VW some 20 years back.

So . . . I just purchased the replacement, a loaded 2025 1500 Laramie. While I'm only a couple hundred miles into ownership, so far so good. From a distance, it looks like the same truck, but the Laramie is so much more. I love the features. It's a 1/28/25 build, so I'm hoping a majority of the bugs have been worked out. Or, maybe I'm just a masochist.

its something stupid you are on right path o2 or warring heat expands stuff i drive fast in auto mode now and just push thru the surge . Rebel with big tire 392 rear and about 800 pounds in bed i get 14.5 mpg so its not running rich. Office guy on this forum has same problem like us same symptoms in cold hot weather and him and i think its bad grounds .

Yeah, to hell with pushing through surge on a $70k truck. Make them fix it or buy it back.
