Digital Key setup 2025 Laramie

Just picked up my '25 Laramie level II and my dealership was excitedly aware of it, they gave it to me in a baggie with a little pamphlet on how it will work eventually. Surprised to see dealerships not aware of what seems to be a pretty cool new feature. They did reach out to someone to find out an ETA of the roll out for the app and didnt get anywhere, but the key card itself works for unlocking doors and starting my truck at the moment.

Same experience for me - salesman knew exactly how it worked and I gave it a try and it worked perfectly. I plan to just keep the card in my wallet in case it is needed.

Wouldn’t the listing of the digital key (and animated headlights) on the window sticker be false advertising? I’m sure we paid for those features (I know I did)? I’m surprised I don’t see more bitching about that.

Same here. It's a good time to remind Ram this was already pushed back to Q1. That is now almost 3/4 gone.

So I just leased a new 2025 Laramie. It says it is equipped, even found it in the infotainment system. But:
- Not in my RAM app
- I tried to pair it in the truck, but there was nothing.

Some posts say it is working, but is it? I am confused?

The backup NFC card will work now. It should've come with the truck (maybe in glovebox or center console). The Smart Phone As A Key (SMAAK) will not work. Supposedly this will require a software update for which we are all waiting. And Waiting.

Does anyone have any update on release time frame. Not looking like the will hit Q1 promise for release of the iPhone as key. This is getting really bad and makes me wonder if they will ever release it.

When I first got the truck, I went on the screen to digital key. It said open the app. I opened app and right after digital glovebox was a digital key icon that said unpaired. I went thru the pairing process and it’s worked since. However I just went and looked in the app and the digital key icon (paired) disappeared, but the key still works. Just used it this morning.

funny i'm so oldschool i don't even like the push button start i miss putting my key in and turning it. now they want to take the key away all together.
i'm just going to have to get a 3rd gen next restore/restomod it and keep it going.

I recognize that. I have read the threads. I am curious as to what version of the app he has. I downloaded the app in the middle of February but picked my 2025 up three days ago, so I'm interested to see what version of the app he has.

Same version. But I think it updated recently (I have auto updates on), which might be why the key icon disappeared now. It’s very odd.
