That seems kid of silly. Most all seats in cars that I've owned look like they've been sat in, not tightly stretched as if they were a brand new untouched seat.

It's not a myth. Scotty Kilmer explained it pretty well in one of his youtube videos or speak with a random police chief with all their hemi charger fleet. GMs lifter issues are all related to their cylinder deactivation, not idling times.
I've had 4 Hemis and no my tuned '25 Limited Hurricane. No comparison -- with my hurricane I have more power than my previous BMW twin turbo V8s and the functionality of a 4X4 huge interior luxury truck.
