Yeah hopefully it was something wrong with them from their manufacturer and a fluke. I can't imagine what those convertors cost. OMG! I'm still going to floor mine often! Such a thrill!
Yeah, let us know what the ticket says about what the issue with the cats were. FastBlackRam was referring to people who continue to drive their cars after it overheats (coolant wise) being their fault. He was responding to my post on faulty thermostats.
I believe the issue was, according to the video, was that it was overheating too fast to stop the damage. I don't think it was just driving while overheating.
I hope it's not a widespread issue because I love this new HO engine. It screams! I'm waiting for them to get all the kinks and testing with the tuning process. Burger tuning knows their stuff.
I heard someone with a YouTube channel talking about melting cats but you're the first one on the forum to have the issue. So curious about this. How are they getting so hot? Is it only on trucks driven hard? Only HO engines? First major issue with this engine? Can't wait to hear the diagnosis.
Ugh, that sucks. We were gonna get a new Escalade, but at such a high failure rate with the new cylinder deactivation system from '21 forward i think we'll keep our '18 Escalade ESV for awhile until they get it sorted out.
We understand that the card works -- it's the using it to pair with our smartphones and use them as our key fob. That's what's been unavailable since supposed launch of this feature.
You must not have the HO engine -- it's quite different. It's much smoother in city than my hemi was. It you hit the gas hard in the hemi, it would sit there and wait a second and then downshift -- not smooth at all.
I agree with Maddoggin. This engine has balls! I just drove 300 miles in the rain coming back home from a funeral. Make sure it's not in sport mode when you floor it in the rain! I was going 75 and floored it and it lost traction from the turbos kicking in. It's a BEAST ... and smooth as...
Got my truck back today from the dealer today and just like I said, it was the right bed step -- 82216597AC. I just wish they'd listened to me earlier, but at least they made it right so that I wouldn't have to buy the correct one!
They're installing it Monday. I know it's gonna fit because I've confirmed it with several higher level Mopar reps way more knowledgeable that my dealer for sure.
The power tailgate also closes with a slight push up on it or it will close by itself holding down the button on the fob until it closes. It will also power close if you forgot to close it and get in the truck and hold it down as long as its in park.
