Has anyone removed the bumper completely to install the brackets/light? Seems pretty minimal work to remove - two plastic trim pieces and 6 bolts. I’m considering it so I can set the bumper on a table instead of struggling on my back under the truck.
I got one of the $160 ones off of Amazon and it seems to be the same as the mopar one. Very sturdy and I’m close to the weight limit.
The screws holding the step to the arm vibrated loose so be sure to locktite/torque them .
I have a long torso, so mine were too low at the highest setting - I added another slot to the mounting posts to move it even higher (angle grinder and a file). Interested to see if they can move back further as well - I’d bet there is some way to open the cover and modify the mounting.
Confirmed today. Swapped in the replacement horn in about 10 minutes just by taking off the radiator cover. There is room between the core support and the ac condenser to sneak it in. 10mm bolt comes off on the back side so no need to move the latch or remove the grill.
