I didn't succeed in finding anything here on the forum, but I did find this document online :
https://static.nhtsa.gov/odi/rcl/2023/RCRIT-23V263-0124.pdf
which I believe is the relevant recall.
Below is a snip from my paperwork when I had the job done back in Feb.
It lists "1401A182 Safety...
thanks for the tip. I definitely paid for it, there was no conversation about it being part of the recall. I will have to look into that. It was the first fuel filter change on the vehicle and I thought it a good idea to get it done with the pump replacement. I wasn't aware it should have been...
Sorry, missed replying to this a while ago. No, I didn't see them put anything extra on the front corners beyond the seal that comes with the cap that lays between the cap and the truck. I saw them take a good bit of time getting that seal placed, and so far so good.
Since getting the tail gate...
With reference to my attached screenshot : the upper right controls with my user name, the mail icon, alert icons etc : these used to be "sticky" on the top of the page, meaning that when I scrolled, they would stay visible. If I recall correctly they were in the same area as the other menu...
How did the Dempster compare with the Dalton highway ? Muddy conditions similar ? I know you stopped at Coldfoot because of the risk of snow and ice on passes further north, it wasn't the mud that stopped you, albeit it wasn't much fun, right ?
You crossed the Mackenzie River and the Peel...
I made the mistake of letting the dealer change the fuel filter when doing the HPFP recall. It was the first fuel filter change on my vehicle. I paid them $280-ish to do it. Then I went home and watched video online on changing the fuel filter and i've been kicking myself ever since for agreeing...
Well done on getting to Artic Circle and Coldfoot. I think you made a wise choice given the weather and going solo. I looked at my pics - we did a bus tour up to Coldfoot. What a difference a dry road makes, we had dry and dusty. Potholes, yes, but no mud. The tour bus ( a smaller mini bus )...
WELL DONE ! We numbered ourselves among the 70% our our trip up there :-( Mountain was out there somewhere but we never saw it.
I remember Independence Mine. It's not too far from Wasilla, you probably passed through or near Wasilla. It's a ho-hum sub-urban sprawl town, feels just like any...
Kluane Lake...that jogged my memory. When my wife and I road-tripped up there in 2006. We stopped there. We left Oregon the weekend before Memorial Day, so my memory is that by the time we would have got up to Kluane Lake it would have been early June. Here's what we saw of the lake that day...
Really enjoying your posts - what an amazing trip so far ! Missed you when you came through Oregon, I would have reached out to see if we could meet up but I was in California at the time! ( NorCal - father-in-law lives by Clear Lake in Lake County, couple hours north of Napa, and west of...
That's not good. Wasn't that something like the problem with the Gen 1 and Gen2 Ecodiesels ? Allegedly the 3rd gen was supposed to be re-designed enough to eliminate that issue. Haven't heard of very many 3rd gen's grenading yet. Hope it doesn't become a trend !
I have a '22 Rebel with the ED motor. I'm just approaching 17k miles on it ( I obviously don't drive it a whole lot ! mostly for camping trips actually )
Anyway, I average about 22mpg in mixed driving, in town and on rural twisty 2-lane country roads. On the highway I will see up to 26mpg, but...
