What did you do to your Ram today???

BTW, I'm guessing you already know about The MILEPOST ? The mile-by-mile road logs are really something else.

What did you do to your Ram today???

ooooh, this brings back memories ! In 2006 my wife and I did a round trip road trip from Portland area to Alaska. We were ground-tent camping ! Yep, set up tent and broke down every day. I had a sabbatical from work, it turned out we were exactly "40 days and 40 nights" on the road and we...

Recall of High Pressure Fuel Pump

After letting them do the first fuel filter change ( at ~ 12k miles ) along with the HPFP recall, and paying them $195 labor + $89 for the filter I said to myself , "self, don't do that again ! learn how to change your own fuel filter" !

Recall of High Pressure Fuel Pump

I was also told 2 days but they got it done in one day. Dropped it off at around 9am, they gave me a ride home, and called me about 5pm to say it was ready to pick up. I've done a few short trips since ( 20 to 30 miles each ) and no issues so far, nothing obviously different about the truck

Fuel filter replacement interval-Mopar just changed the owner's manual

I just got the HPFP recall done and the fuel filter changed. First fuel filter change on this truck at 12k miles, I thought it made sense to start off with a new filter with the new pump. However, like another person said in this thread I think this will be the first and last time I let this...

Recall of High Pressure Fuel Pump

Went in to my local dealership to see where they were at with doing the HPFP recall. Turns out they have parts in stock and can schedule me in next week. But, he said they need the truck for 2 days ! Now it's not my daily driver ( that's my trusty old '07 Outback XT turbo ), so not a big deal on...

What did you do to your Ram today???

"Some assembly required" I think :) Not quite a clamshell popup - but looks amazing when set up nonetheless ! Almost think there should be a trailer in the picture somewhere - to haul all that stuff when it's collapsed down !

    Technical Tuesday: Sliders vs Steps

Can the sliders function as a sort of a step or are they really too narrow to be any good ? I did an "offroad driving course" at overland expo last year ( eye-opening, i had no idea my truck could do things that they made me put it through ! ) Anyway, my steps ( the Mopar standard steps that I...

What did you WITH your Ram this weekend

ah, that makes sense. Well, they are good decoys then, had me fooled :) Likewise in Ireland, the birds have to be airborne to shoot. Also, back in the day, before my time, goose was the standard fare for the Christmas dinner table in Ireland. When I was growing up it was turkey, but it would...

What did you WITH your Ram this weekend

So, I'm not a waterfowl hunter, or any kind of a hunter for that matter....and I'm looking at this pic and I see a stack of dead geese and a bunch of live ones happily grazing in the background and I'm sitting here thinking "what the heck?, are they that dumb?" ( the geese I mean ! ) Like why...

What did you do to your Ram today???

Mud on the truck is the sign of a good trip out ! My sphincter is clenching just sitting here reading about sliding sideways in mud on an incline :) The only thing you didn't add is whether there was a drop-off on the edge of the road, to add to the drama !

Humor : Driving off pavement and raising a dust is "irresponsible behavior" per the British advertising standards authority

This is perhaps a little off-topic but funny enough to share as it does pertain to off-roading : " The regulator barred two ads, first released in a 2020 campaign: a poster and a video shown on social media, where dozens of Toyota Hilux cars drive across off-road terrain, including a river...

    Tire chains

If you do have a Rebel and you are set on getting chains, the only one that might work is cable chains, BUT, you will have to come to terms with the fact that clearance from the brake lines is really very small. If anything went sideways, there's a possibility of your brake line getting yanked...

    Oil Puddle in Garage

Yep, I've had this problem too. I have a Rebel Ecodiesel, and between the front sway bar and the skid plates, it's clearly hard not to make a mess. But they don't clean up after themselves is what bugs me. If I wanted a mess, I'd do it myself ( I hate doing oil changes, no matter the vehicle, I...

BEST Cap/Top out there...... RSI SmartCap ?

So far, no, but limited experience so far. The day I got it fitted was a really wet day, so the bed of the truck was soaked before it went on. Hence even though I drove home in heavy rain, it was not a good test since everything was wet inside already. Although I will say there was no evidence...

What did you do to your Ram today???

That is a nice griddle ! This is the trouble with vicariously enjoying other guy's camping reports is you see things you "need" :-) Like that Devos LightRanger and a griddle like that. I know you said that one's home-made but there are similar ones to be had I know. However, having put RSI's...

BEST Cap/Top out there...... RSI SmartCap ?

Finally.....after close to 10 months of waiting ( ordered mid-January'23 ).... it's arrived and installed. I had my dealer install it. It took 2 guys + a forklift about 4 hrs to get it done. With the long wait, I was tempted once or twice to consider bailing out and ordering an Alucab, but I...

What did you do to your Ram today???

--- that's quite the menagerie you've been hauling around :) My wife's Highlander is the main car our kids get hauled around in..... hoooh boy, that poor car ! Went camping with my daughter (14 ) this past summer. One campground had a bothersome mosquito population, so she spent a good bit of...

    Oil analysis report.

My second oil change. I know this sounds terrible but the oil is "whatever the dealer puts in". Hopefully they are using the spec'd oil !

What did you do to your Ram today???

I fixed the dealer's mistakes yesterday ! Had an oil change done the other day. Asked them to _please_ clean up the underside of the truck, I really don't want oil splatters on my garage floor. I asked this because after my first oil change on the truck that is what happened. Oil all over the...
