    1.5 Icon Springs reviews

I was looking at doing stiffer rear coils or air bags in the stock ORP coils. I ordered extended 2.5 DSC foxes and Icon UCA’s. Just not sure what rear coils would play well. The foxes use a softer spring so it doesn’t sound like they play nice with a stiffer rear spring. If you ever watch icon...

    TRX Grill on Laramie

Sorry for the delay! Fitment is good. Finish is questionable but could be fine. I plan to wrap the the border of the new grille anyways and upper chrome piece in a color that will be coming soon. I ran the coolest temps to date pulling my travel trailer. Before at the top of sustained 5-7%...

    TRX Grill on Laramie

It came and I installed it tonight. I’ll update with some pictures and thoughts tomorrow as long as my day goes well. Tow test coming Saturday. Initially it looks pretty decent. The finish on it is very questionable though. Seems easily scratched. I probably will be wrapping this grille in a...

    TRX Grill on Laramie

I ordered one the other day. Will install Thursday most likely as long as it arrives on time and looks legit. Plan to do a tow test while we still have this Phoenix heat. That’s my main reason to test this grille out. It’s the most open grille I’ve seen so should help my cooling needs.

    TRX Grill on Laramie

Your aftermarket grille isn’t the TRX look alike. More l Iike the rebel. Probably made by same company though.

    TRX Grill on Laramie

I’m wandering too! I’m very close to ordering one for my Laramie. Want better flow to my radiator and this looks the best for that. Might have to wrap the chrome afterwards to make it look right though.

    Bilstein 5100

Interesting… seems that most at setting 5 and ORP end up with the front fenders slightly higher than the rear. My 21 is stock on 34’s with no rub. I’m about 2- 2 1/4 higher in the rear stock. I Plan to run on setting 3 or 4 to keep a slight rake. Either way yours still looks good, just wander...

    18” Aftermarket Wheels that fit?

Well that’s cool that your shop worked to get you the next best thing. I need to try another shop. Sucks that 18’s are so difficult to work with on these trucks. The last shop I worked with was booked out over a month out so I bet they just didn’t want it to take up more of their time. That and...

    Oil Temp while Towing

Somethings up if you’re running that high with 5k. Could there have been a bad head wind? If the truck checks out fine I’d check to make sure your trailer wheels are free spinning. I’ve been worried about my temps in AZ 100+ heat up grades. I peaked 264 oil and 237 coolant on my last run and I’m...

    18” Aftermarket Wheels that fit?

Nice, looks great! How did your shop go about ordering them? I had 2 shops not want to try 18’s on my truck so I may just order them online and bring them into the guys that put my tires on. It was wheel pros who pretty much distributes every wheel company out there now that recommended not to...

    Enough truck?

Completely normal for a gas truck to run high rpm’s up grades while towing. They are designed for this so don’t worry too much. Obviously if you can slow down a little to keep the RPM’s down slightly won’t hurt. That combo should be just fine behind your truck. 5300# unloaded is a nice spot...

    Overheating the 4x4 system

It really seams pretty close to the same mpg. Maybe a 1/2-1mpg at most. In the past with gas engines I lost an easy 2 mpg going up a couple sizes. So this is rather refreshing. The tires measure about 2 inches taller and about 12 lbs a piece more. I’m getting a solid 18mpg towing my 2k 5x8...

    Overheating the 4x4 system

I’m not getting into serious wheeling. Once you get past class 6 trails you’re more in the territory of having a purpose built 4x4. Not planning to go wreck this truck nor get another new truck for the few times I hit the trail. The Arizona trails are a mix of rock and hard pack mainly but there...

What size drop on the tow hitch?

A 6 inch drop should be a good middle ground. Small Utility trailers are sitting pretty low so 6 inches should be good for most of those. After going up in tire size I’m going to need an 8 inch drop for my 5x8 enclosed haul mark. The 6 inch was still a little nose high before tires. She rides...
