Sure would be nice if you could show a picture of that fuse. I had my doors apart numerous times for upgrades and I never saw a fuse in the doors. The door module is powered by fuse 45 under the dash panel. No other fuses in the doors.
I have the Bank's for 2 years now and not one issue. It does not do anything to the signal in reverse and uses the power from the OBD port. Paired it with the iDash Pro, very happy with it.

I have them on mine for over a year now, great fit, easy install, absolutely love them. Of course, I had to modify them. Installed front and rear side markers. They are from a 2002 Mini Cooper, perfect curve.
