My truck was behaving same way until the dealer reflashed TCM (transmission module) last week. The truck is driving much smoother and it's very responsive/predictable. I hope that this info helps.
While I agree that it probably doesn't shut off the etorque but there is absolutely no regenerative braking or the delayed acceleration from a stoplight while driving in the ERS mode. Honestly my wife's BMW X5 has a similar setup but it's so much better.
A/C in a 22 Ram 1500 is good but not the best IMO especially here in Houston summer days. There's also an annoying consistent AC condensation at bottom of the windshield.
I do own a 2022 Longhorn with 5.7 etorque and the start stop system is not good at all. There's always a delay getting the truck to move from a complete stop. Even with the system disabled it seems that there is a puff and then go with the new etorque. My dealer does agree that the delay is...
