    Towing Mirrors?

I use the two driver memory presets to set the mirrors for each position, #1 is for the mirrors down, #2 is for the mirrors up. Works for me since I'm the only driver and don't need the 2nd driver memory. I like the blind spot mirror on the tow mirrors a lot better than the regular mirrors, even...

    Trailer with Lithium Battery

All I can think of is if you have a fridge that runs on 12v instead of propane when disconnected from shore power if the propane is shut off, that might drain it, but the battery should be getting some charge from the tow vehicle while travelling.

Truck cap keyless entry tie in

I just did this a couple months ago and downloaded those wiring diagrams for reference so I'll re-post them here. Thanks to the poster on the other thread for providing them. As mentioned above, tie into them at the "B" pillar and not in the door sill, it's too tight to splice into them in the...

Are there any high mileage Gen3 Eco's with stock tune on here?

That's not covered under the powertrain warranty?

    Performance chips

You say it should have a sport or trailer mode, does it not have a tow mode button? That should change the transmission shifts and maybe help with your issue. Mine doesn't have any issues at with with lag but maybe the 3.92 gears make a difference.

Ram Diesel Question - Never had a Diesel

I also use my truck mostly for extended trips 2-3 times a year and it can sit for long periods in between. In the winter it sits in my shed from late November until mid-March. The only issue I've had was the first year I had it there was a DEF sensor problem when I pulled it out in March. The...

Pulling out tomorrow for our trip to Mississippi and then back through Santa Fe New Mexico

Nice pics. Did you notice a difference with the new tires? I tow basically the same camper (Jayco 21QB, 17k towing miles so far behind this truck) and I'm getting new tires this month to replace the OE Bridgestones. I'm going with a XL tire for the higher PSI and stiffer sidewall which should...

Ram tailgate won't open all the way with travel trailer

I had the same problem with my tailgate hitting the power jack when I first bought my truck. I installed an extended shank on my weight distribution hitch to give me clearance to open the tailgate. Last summer I replaced the OEM power jack with a bulldog 3500# unit and I found that the bulldog...

    No more diesel.......

Based on your experience pulling all kinds of trailers, how much difference is there in mileage or handling (the effect of sidewinds, etc) when pulling an Airstream compared to a trailer like the one in my profile picture? I've been averaging about 12 pulling this camper, usually with cruise set...

    No more diesel.......

Speed and terrain have a huge impact on mileage. I recently finished a 6k mile trip pulling a travel trailer for 2/3 of those miles, my average towing mpg was 12 (based on the fills that were 100% towing) and average non-towing mpg of 23.4. I had a best of 32.5 on one tank over a 3 day period...

    DEF tank refilling

The DEF used is a percentage of the fuel burned, I forget now if it's supposed to be 2% or 2.5% DEF to diesel. Use more fuel towing and you'll use more DEF. I always wait until the low DEF light comes on, then add a 2.5 gallon box like the others above. The first winter I had the truck it sat...

    First Ecodiesel trip

I'm in NW Wisconsin and usually average 23-24 if I'm driving highway at 70-75 and not on winter fuel. I have the 3.92 gears so I'd expect it to be worse than the 3.21's. When I'm making trips to the lake on the back roads with a 55mph speed limit I'll get a couple mpg better on that tank. Towing...

    On the road again!

Jayco Jayflight 21QB. It's been discontinued and replaced by the 212QB, same dimensions and floorplan but less features. It looks bigger in the picture than it actually is (21' camper, 26' hitch to bumper), must be an optical illusion.

    On the road again!

Left this morning for a 6 week, 4k+ mile trip from northwest WI to the FL keys and back with various stops in between. Picture was last night loaded and ready to go. Was 16 degrees when we left this morning, drove 640 miles to our first stop in southern IL where we de-winterized the camper and...
