We had a 2017 rebel that we sold in 21. Decided after a few months of research to get back into one. Doing some boat towing around 5-6k and general truck stuff. Tinted it today. Got a BAKFLIP MX4 TS HARD FOLDING TONNEAU COVER W/ T-SLOT RAILS on the way (ordered new brackets and special instructions to make it work). Have plans for under grill lights, intake and probably some camping focused mods.

We have a 17 TRDOR Tacoma and a 22 Kia EV6.

Where’d you order the silver rails? Can’t find any in stock.

Judging by your subject line you have the Multi-Function Tailgate? You might want to view this post and the subsequent posts after that one for a bit of user feedback on the MFT. Longtime member, but still need to post here

The MFT, while a supremely useful option, can be a bit finicky in terms of closure, because it's a bit more "bouncy" than a solid tailgate. It's best to close the left barn door firmly, with your palm firmly against the back of the door to help stop the "bounce" (flexing) in order to get a solid closure without the dash light saying it's not fully closed.

Also, on rare occasion with the MFT the latch will be "dead", i.e. no click or anything, left barn door won't open. What has always worked for me on the occasions the latch is electronically dead (no click at all) is to remove the 12 V battery ground cable for an hour or so then reconnect it. That's always cleared that particular error on my 2020.

I just apply pressure on the left MFT door when actuating the handle and it works every time.

Beautiful looking truck. Good luck keeping it clean. :p I had a BMW 325is that was black and after having that car I swore I would never buy another black vehicle.

I have a Bakflip MX4 Gen 3 and it is really nice.
