I have to admit I'm very disappointed at the gas mileage I am getting on my new truck. This is with me driving fairly conservatively with about 75% being city driving without hauling or towing anything. This is a far cry from the 22/19/17 Ram states for this vehicle.

I'd like to see others post their first 1,000 miles and see how it compares.

Wow, sorry to hear that. I can't get 12.2 even if I'm driving it like I stole it. I've got a heavy truck (lots of options) with the 3.92 and I average high 17's. I'm closing in on 6K miles but it's never averaged anywhere that low.

Well as an example I have 10,000 miles on mine and I’m getting 13mpg. I don’t tow, haul, or carry anything but family. I’m feeling this is the best that I’m going to get unless they come out with a modified program to help.

I am getting 16.5 city and 23.6 highway now that i passed the 3,000 mile mark in my 5.7 4x4 quad cab. I keep the highway cruise set around 65 mph and the hemi loves it. Before 3,000 miles i struggled to get 20 mph. I now believe the ram has the VVT shut off like chargers and challengers until the 3,000 mile mark

Edit: (these numbers are all in 2wd mode)

How many people are using their remote car starter? As long as the truck is running the mpg will go down either sitting in your truck while it runs or the remote starter. during these cold days I warm up my truck 3 times a day and I’m getting 14.3. I reset on my way to and reset again on the way home I’m getting 16.5 on way home and 17.9 going to work. So I know it’s from me using the remote car starter.

What gears are you running?

Ouch, 12.2mpg would kill me as I have a 70 mile daily commute. I do love the Rebel. You have an awesome truck SacRebel. It's too bad you are not getting better milage.

15.5mpg average for me, around the Boise area. I have a Lone Star-Crew Cab w/ 1300 miles. That’s with 80% city driving... (unfortunately)
I was averaging 14-14.5mpg with 4-600 miles. Seems to be slowly improving with more miles, as I’m breaking it in

I started off at ~12.8 mostly city. On thing though, I have a 3 mile long hill i basically go up most times I leave the house. After 2k miles I am hovering around 15mpg. I am still waiting to get the truck on a flat highway on a road trip. The California Central Valley would be a great test.

1600 miles in for me and I'm seeing no signs of improvement. Got 15.5 mpg on the way to Dallas over the weekend with a tailwind doing the speed limit the entire way (70-75mph) and on the way home I had a headwind and got 12.2 mpg. I didn't expect the EPA numbers, but this is pretty ridiculous.

I wonder if the Prius forums are full of complaints about poor towing performance.

That is funny - but I think the issue is the MPG is not living up to the window sticker. Compare to the Tundra, which is a much lower rating 13/17. Also a 5.7 engine. Folks wouldn't be complaining as much if the Ram also had a 13/17 rating.

Really, I’ve never heard/read of that. Interested in the info. Not pushing buttons on you , super curious. Lmk links or info and such on that please(y)

Last 5 trucks: F150 King Ranch, three Raptor Supercabs and my current 16 Ram 1500 Crew...All 4x4, all stock with exception of tires, exhaust and leveling kit (King Ranch & Ram) and all averaged 12.5-14.5mpg after break-in. One Raptor started at 9mpg but wound up at 12.5mpg. This is what I have come to expect from a full size 4x4 and won't be disappointed if this is what I get from the 19' Longhorn on order...

However, all mpg bets are off when I get my paws on one of the Hellcat or 426 Hemi Rams coming in a year or two :)

100% city (urban) driving. 9.1 mpg. 565 miles. Hope it improves. I get 11.5 in an 800hp mustang.
