AlfaOBD Known Changes 5th Gen

My main focus for entering the AlfaOBD world was to enable the OEM trailer brake controller that I installed. Dealers wanted $950 and $1050 for the entire job and one wanted $310 just for programming. I did it all for $450 YAY!

I attempted to enable 3 other features.
Fog lights stay on with high beams = successful.
Global Windows down/up = failed.
4 lever heated steering wheel = maybe worked. Hard to tell since the icon does not change, but there are 3 on presses before the icon shifts to off.

Global windows doesn't work on 5th gens. But you can buy a TazerDT and it gives you that feature.

Hesterd steering wheel, I had line set to 3 level, and it worked for a while. Then i updated the Uconnect app version and lost that and tailgate ajar indication.

Thanks for the info.
Global windows aren't worth the cost of the Tazer. I just thought it would be neat to have even though I can't think of a personal use for it.

I use it on my old a** 2003 Audi A6 (humorous a modern truck can't) when it's hot AF. It doesn't have the "summer package" that could open the sunroof and turn on ventilation. Dropping all the windows on approach actually helps dump all that hot air. "Global up" also closes the sunroof if it's open.

That said, I can remote start my truck from an app, and have it cool/heat, so there's that.
 
Since turning on the OEM trailer brake controller, fogs on with high beams and multi temp heated steering wheel, my streaming music from YouTube and using Android Auto, skips.
I tried unpairing & repairing and soft restart of head unit.
Will I lose any of the AlfaOBD settings that I changed if I reset the head unit at whatever the next level reset?

No, you don't lose anything. You would lose something if you updated the BCM. But those changes aren't going to affect your streaming.

the advantage of having the dealer program it is, it will then be on your build sheet in case you ever have to reprogram the computer.

Pure coincidence that the music started skipping after your changes. Nothing you changed wound effect that, and the changes you made were to the BCM, not the Uconnect display.

So, I can go nuts resetting everything until it fixes it with no fear of losing changes to the BCM. CHECK.

I have a 2020 RAM 1500 Limited.
My DRL is in the headlight "eyebrows", which is how the car was delivered. But I find it relatively dim.
What values do I need to increase with AlfaOBD (and what is the maximum setting) to make it brighter?

Those aren't your DRL those are what Ram calls "signature lighting". There should be an option on your display menu to toggle DRL on/off, which will be your headlight low beams.

Ahhh, okay - so is it possible to increase the brightness of this signature lights as I asked? (max. voltage,...)

No, unfortunately you can't increase the brightness with alfaObd. There has to be some way, because when you remote start the truck, they are brighter than when driving. But there isn't a setting that anyone has found to change it.

Thanks for your help!
I tried to put the DRL in the fog lights and failed miserably. I don't have an option to activate the daytime running lights in my uConnect either.
My country code is set to Kazakhstan, as with all “export RAMs.”
However, I activated the display in AlfaOBD, set the DRL to “Optional DRL,” and then set the lamps for the DRL to fog lights.
Unfortunately, without success... Can you tell me exactly which options I need to set?
