Switching dream "goal" for my Rebel.
Last weekend, took the family on a trail here in Arizona, weather was awesome, had a great time.
At least for my Rebel and the desert high speed for the baja runs is no longer 1st priority. Long Travel kits and just options are not abundant in the 5th gens.
Yesterday, I placed the order for 8112/8100 Bilsteins with Rear Coils from Carli and UCAs from Dirt King. This combination should allow me to hit whoops at decent speed and for taking the family on trails, enough comfort and articulation for slower technical trails.
I will install them myself, I will post the review. This setup should still be enough to kill my team at the baja runs lol!
Next, I will probably just finally order wheels, I have been holding but now, it may be time.
We will see if I will pull the trigger on a procharger later in the year... maybe, maybe not.. I guess I will know after putting the 8112s to the test!

Was hoping to post new brakes but RockAuto doesn’t list Mopar rear brake pads; only front.

I’d rather stick with Mopar considering how many miles I have so far. Suggestions?

The Reybestos element 3 pads are decent. A couple different Brembo options, which is a quality brand, and Akebono which is probably the OEM supplier.

I’m sitting at 235K miles with factory pads. Still have meat and don’t need to be changed; want something on the shelf for when I do need to change them. Quiet, clean, grippy pad. And they’re the factory/mopar pads. I want to stick with what has worked.

hey at least it's not when you're full sending it on the trail and hit a tree branch poking out, and you're going highway speed that you didn't see it. then the tree branch hit the front, dragged itself on the hood, knocked your ditch light 90 degrees off (thank SDHQ and Baja Design for high quality stuff... I 100% believe if it was some inferior lights and brackets it'd send the whole thing into the windshield), caught itself on the windshield wiper, and broke the wiper blade before impacting the windshield and caused a damage. Then, you attempted to fix the damage by using a pro grade repair kit and it went well and held well. Then, your dumbas* decided to polish the windshield because it was caked in grease and dirt from day 1 and nothing you've done seem to fix that, only to completely mess up the repair done. THEN, as weather warmed up, a small damage turned into a full length crack within 1 day.

so don't get too mad hahaha

I'm VERY familiar with it could be worse. Actually you could say I'm almost an expert in testing that theory.

hahahahaha i was kicking myself in the as* because I KNEW the center line was the better line, but I stayed on the right side as if there was oncoming traffic.
after that unless the first in convoy calls for oncoming traffic i stay in the center of the trail lol

well I remoted into the office computer this morning and when I was going into the office to do more IT work after lunch I went out to the truck. Hit the start button and nothing.
the truck had sat for about 4 days with solar hooked up.

Checked both of my DC-DC charger and HAM radio (wired to the starting battery) as well as my Switch-Pro, none of them read anything from the starting battery, it was as if the starting battery wasn't there.
Broke out my Noco jumper, but I forgot to charge it after rescuing my friend last time... Gave up, called in to the office and told them I wasn't going. Then, I called shop and have them ordered me another battery for warranty.
Went to the shop, to picked up the battery and picked up my tools and multimeter (my take-home tools and multimeter are in the Decked drawer, but with no power in battery I couldn't even open the tailgate). Went home, hooked up the multimeter, and saw 0.3V.
Attempted to jump the truck with now charged Noco jumper, and the truck started right away. Hooked up the tester, and ran the test.

Battery getting 14v, so I knew it wasn't the charging system. Only 419CCA measured out of 800CCA, that was weird.
Shut off the truck, hooked up multimeter, and it read 3v and dropping like a rock falling from the sky.

Swapped the battery in, and truck started right away. Measured the old battery before I threw it in the truck, and it was at 100CCA.

Drove back to the shop to drop off the old battery and the tools, truck behaved normally. Tested the old battery again at the shop... it was a 94CCA.

Don't know why it behaved like that. I chalk it up to a bad battery, probably dead cell inside or something, for this to happen. Reason being I've got 400W of solar that charges the battery via a Redarc Alpha50 (well, after my camper 100AH liFEPO4 is full), so even if there's parasite draw the battery should not gone to 0.3V after 4 days of sunlight.

Well, good thing everything I installed are external to the truck's wiring, because doing that saved me a lot of head scratching when troubleshooting. Also good thing that I have DC-DC charger installed because when the app wasn't showing truck side voltage I knew it was a dead battery without performing any type of test and was able to find solution immediately - without that I'd be running around doing all kinds of tests to confirm if it was truck's problem or the battery's problem with the minimal tool that was accessible to me at home.

I swear I really thought I could make a wiring harness out of this wiring harness.
I had high hopes of one solid uncut wire from distribution fuse box to a plug that connected the wiring harness I make for the bumper.
I'll have 4 lights but 2 of them have a double separate connections so I'd have 6 lights to control. I also need to figure out some diode stuff for reverse lights...

we have a few harnesses like that at the shop from toyota vehicles that had catastrophic engine issues. I tried to do the same a few times and eventually gave up because it's actually faster for me to make my own harnesses lol
now we just use those harnesses for connectors or toyota OE wiring repair when rodents eat the wires.

I broke my damn windshield I'm still haven't come to accept it yet. It feels like I totaled it and it's 100% my fault.
My first pic of the truck with about 3 inch lift and 2ish tire gain. I've got a new off-road bumper, headlights and grill. I kind of like the front bumper now that its higher of the ground
Any front windshield thoughts or experiences you would like to share ?

I feel your pain. I've had Rams for the last 10 years. No issues. Last month, I cracked the Infotainment - $2100 CAD later I still feel like a tool.

I’m still on mopar pads 117,000 + and they still have meat, bite hard and make no noise and brake dust is very minimal. I would definitely buy the same pads when it comes time again. Only thing changed so far in brakes is the fluid everything else is fine, lines and all.

Swapped out the exterior door handle cable and have regained the use of it. Kept the old cable and confirmed that it freezes tight when cold enough. Might strip a section off so moisture can drain in case this happens again.

just stay away from the Toyota harnesses. rodents love them hahahaha
and yes you are correct the BMW harnesses are much better, the only thing I hate is the color coding lol sometimes they are very confusing.

Rain X windshield repair kit works well, crack never got any worse. Did it 2 years ago
