Clunk after shocks

Dealer has my truck now. They said the cv axle boot looked leaky so that could be a potential cause.

Sounds expensive but I should hear more tomorrow.

Been a while.
Dealer came back and said lca and axle were bad. Tie rod boot was ripped.
Quoted an absurd amount so I did both uca, lca, and axles, replaced the tie rod, sway bar end links and the bushings myself. Pop/clunk is still there. Not sure what to check next.

maybe the body mount as someone said before then.
edit: you did grease the sh*t out of the sway bar bushing right?

Thats my next endeavor. Even though Inpaid the dealership 150 bucks to tell me the body mounts are fine.
I read elsewhere on this form that the body mounts are 90 ft/lbs if you want to and are able to double check them yourself. My clunk came back today at the magic 30° ambient temperature so I’m going to check mine tomorrow.

I got an appointment with my local shop to investigate Tuesday.

I did the body mounts a few weeks ago and still had the clunk

Then I replaced the front sway bar and sway bar and links with the suspension links. Still had the clunk

while looking around I recently noticed that the bolts on the High hat for the strut on my driver side are not the same length as the one on my passenger side. When I originally did the strut install I over torqued one of the bolts and sheared it… The High hat that I ordered had the same part number as the original so I thought it was the same.

Today I disassembled the front driver side strut to replace the high hat with one that matches the passenger side. While doing that I noticed the suspension max and links had come loose.

I replaced the new high hat and tightened the heck out of the end links. Driving around today the clunk was gone… But it almost always comes back after this kind of work when it’s wet. So we will see

I’m on my new property and don’t have a garage, driveway, or really any flat surface to do work. So it has been an adventure. I used a large piece of excess flooring to disperse the weight of the jack, after securing the jack to another piece of wood to make sure it didn’t move at all once it had the trucks wait on it.

Here is the disassembled strut

And here you can see the incorrect I had next to the new one that matches the passenger side. The bolts are definitely different than the old one even looks like it’s a slightly different shape.

Dude, I really hope this fixes it.
I get it. Our alotment required our driveways to be a certain grade, atleast it is a driveway though but can sometimes feel sketchy.

I backed out of my driveway the otherday and thought I heard a clunk. Man i was seriously ready to drive it to the dealership and grab one of those 26s with the 10/100 warranty lol. Drove around for a while and never heard anything so maybe it was just an icechunk or something.

For what it’s worth, I did the sway bar bushings and end links recently and after a long drive a clunk came ‘back’… when I got back to the home shop I had to retighten/torque the end links and it’s now gone….

It’s supposed to be wet the next couple of days so I’m sure I will find out if I still have it or not. If I can go more than 30 days without something I may keep the truck… But after two years it’s not looking great

i heard a clunk again. Today was warm so I crawled under and sure as sh!t my end link on ds was loose. Tightened it up and all is good. Suspensionmaxx too.

Loctite might be in my future.
