"Basically they don't know whats going on. Hate this engine. Anyone else have this issue."Sorry, I haven't respond. Didn't see it on ticket. I also found if I used higher Octane gas and sometimes Octane boost, truck would run great. Now my problem that surfaced last week were messages to: Have truck service at dealer, and refer me to look at proper fuels in Manual. When I took to dealer they claimed the problem was truck was overfilled with oil and they would have to do a oil change and put in correct amount. Has reduced power when giving gas. I asked how they knew truck was overfilled when guage indicators were reading perfect with 38% life on oil. Service tech said I couldn't rely on guages. I asked how you know if overfilled since their isn't a dipstick and you haven't changed the oil yet. No answer. I obtained my oil changed ticket indicating changed on 8/30 with 7 1/2 quarts of oil. Perfect if you allow for oil in the filter. I asked dealer why took 4 months for messages to come on? He indicated again can't rely on messages and they sometimes take that long. HUH?? They changed oil at dealer, problem still there. Basically they don't know whats going on. Hate this engine. Anyone else have this issue.
Nowadays there are no true mechanics, well there are but hard to find, they relay on tech stuff.
If it doesn't throw a code they are lost, even when you can demonstrate the problem!!
Of course they are limited by dealer and manufacturer practices.
Oh, did they charge you for the oil change, since it didn't fix the issue??
Everyone, this is my take on this subject since I had minor issues and was told if it doesn't show codes they can't do anything until it does!!!!
