New Body Mount Parts, no more CLUNK!!

I have had a creak/pop noise that comes with sharp parking lot speed turns. Ive replaced sway bar links and bushings, control arms — no fix. This is next to try. Did you guys get these bolts loose with a regular impact driver? I have a fear of broken bolts after just dealing with my exhaust flange gasket replacement.

I live in Florida, so mine broke loose fairly easily. If you have concerns, just spray them with WD40 or penetration spray in advance of doing the job.

Been dealing with this clunk forever, finally going to give this a try. Ordered the parts and can hopefully do it before the weather turns

NE Ohio— had to use a breaker bar. Lots of loctite on them but it wasnt hard at all.

Man!! Did you get the trx mounts?
I did them snd they fit perfectly. Of course my clunk wasnt that though. 😂😂

I got the the ones from the part number on the first post that I assume are the TRX ones. 🤷‍♂️ i’m still not sold that that is what mine is either but I’m willing to give it a shot. I still have the suspension max and links. I just haven’t bothered putting them on.

For the links, get a thin wrench. Cant remember the size, maybe 17mm.

Otherwise, check your jack under the passenger seat…. Make sure its nice and tight 😂😂😂

I WISH it was that simple hahaha like many others it definitely is coming from the driver side either along the frame or in the suspension somewhere. It primarily happens when it’s wet, which is different from most folks though.

Weird. You have your intermediate shaft checked? Not sure how being wet would effect that but who knows.

I’ve only recently started having the dealership take a look at it. This last visit they said they found the weights on my wheels were connecting with the caliper so they rebalance all of my wheels.

Obviously, that wasn’t the issue, but at least it’s one less thing they can claim

Ugh.
Goodluck dude. I know when it happened to me, I was ready to get rid of the thing.

I am going to be doing this shortly. I have a bit of a "clacking/cracking" coming from the rear of my cab area. I've done all the sway bar bushings and links, front and rear struts/shocks are like new, with new UCA's, etc.

This almost seems like it has to be my issue as well at this point.

Ok, maybe I'm an idiot but....

Wouldn't you need 2 fronts, and 6 body mounts? That's a total of 8 mounts, not 6, correct?

Assuming they come in pairs.

They don’t come in pairs. Everything is seperate part numbers.

You’re correct that there is 8 different sets. 4 on each side. The front ones are where the tow hooks mount to and the rear are the bed/body mounts. Both front and rear are probably not your culprit.

Here's a link to the Canadian Mopar parts site - and the front and C pillar mounts are the most expensive but as the gentleman above me described are most likely not the issue.

I've got the clunk in the A pillar and I have ordered the TRX replacement parts but haven't got around to replacing them. If you're certain it's the rear of the cabin, then you'd want to take a look at the B pillar and C pillar mounts. Good luck!

Yup. Now I understand. I watched the TRX video through all the way. It seems like it's the A and B pillars are what they want you to replace. Front and C get left alone.

Seems pretty straightforward of a fix. I might just buy the new bolts as well.

Definitely! Just make sure they send you the right ones! I ordered new bolts too but they sent me the long fromt ones (which I used when adding toe hooks so whatever). I just reused my existing bolts.

Job was very easy. Hardest part for me was finding a jack tall enough since I’m lifted lol.

Well I finally found the time and did the mounts today.

Way easier than I made it out to be as I thought it through. And on the initial drive it didn’t make a single creek, grown, Pop, etc.

Old on the left, new on the right.

Just Grabbed all my new parts today! What did you use to break the bolts loose? Breaker bar or Impact gun?
Thanks!

Probably PART of my problem was that i could just ughadugga them off my self with a long handle ratchet 🤦‍♂️ i have an extending handle hammer ratchet that is among my most used tools and gave me the leverage I needed.
