Was waiting on some friends for an event so decided to take some pics.
2022 rebel hemi etorque. Loaded with most of the bells and whistles. Bought it 2 months ago. Added running boards, a bulletproof phone mount and a cheap trifold soft bed cover. I have plans for an ultralight hard shell camper top like a hiatus so just needed something to cover the bed.

Not looking for a soft shell. It will be me the wife and a small dog for some extended trips and I (she) wants the extra security and comfort. Hiatus is the best of the hard shells with more room than the others and I like the sleeping platform flexibility. Hardsider and shanty are similar to yours but with hard sides.

I love your build and downloaded the pics you put up there recently with all your mods and like following your trips.

Maybe expenses will force me to go cheaper but the current plan is Hiatus. It meets everything you mentioned and is much more roomy and solid.

Depending on where you live you could build a garage for that kind of money.
I get it. I'm just old and crappy man I guess. I sure want to see it though.

Indeed, You do have to spend a boat load of money to live like a hobo for a few days lol.

I always love to tell coworkers and friends that drive around with all their kit mounted on their truck 24/7 “looks like you’re about to go camping / off road any day now…”

All in good fun. It’s pretty cool, just expensive. I used to camp out of a sedan and backpack into remote spots to setup. If I couldn’t bring it by hoof, we didn’t need it.
Cannot beat the experience!

But now that I have kids… yeah I could get used to all that nice stuff for sure!

actually no, if i was married i'd be looking at sprinter vans with wet bath and leave my truck fully desert truck lol

also, be sure to find out if those hard side foldable campers are considered hard side or pop-up. Some places only allow camping for hard-side only and even with a "hard side camper" it is still considered a "pop-up" and not allowed to camp. I found out the hard way LOL

to go "camping" you don't need much. Heck, a simple coleman tent and a simple coleman bag is all you need.
and that's what I did, all the way till 5 years ago.

then saw roof top tent and it all went from there. Once I experienced sleeping on the roof and not worrying about where I pitch the tent (let's see... I've arrived at camp after dark, did not see the ant hole on the ground, and pitch my tent way too close to it. also did pitch tent, went to do my things, and found unpleasant things inside the tent. also did pitch tent on ground that I thought was flat, only to find out it's not level) or clearing the ground to pitch tent.

The insects and critters alone got me off the ground lol, and it worked for short 2-3 day trips.
Then I pulled that 50 day alaska trip. I knew what I was facing, alone. That's why I got the GFC lol or else my simple roof tent on the bed rack worked just as well for trips with the boys.

One thing lead to another just so that I'm not "roughing it" lol yes, I'd probably be better off to do that whole trip in a sprinter (which is way more comfortable) but every morning when I drive on rough roads cruising at highway speed and see people with vans and trailers struggling or pull into a campground and see people roughing it and look at my truck in jealousy, I was glad I found that middle ground.

anyways, point is, you don't have to spend much to go camping, but if you want to go camp in comfort, it's a pay to play game lol

Finally got started on the Fox PEs and Thuren UCAs up front today. I decided to try them at Factory 3" in front.
Yesterday I setup the rear coils on 1.5" (since the rear was L-R leveled already and rode smooth). I do have a set of Eibach 1" coils that I may swap in with 1/2" spacers after trying as it is now.
I also swapped in the +1" Core4x4 rear endlinks, which are a bit short as I originally was going to do 2.5"F/1"R when I ordered the endlinks and Eibach coils.
Like all my projects, everything seems to be taking a lot longer than they should, but I'm being cautious not to F anything up.
BTW, I left the Thuren "Driver's Side" sticker on the UCA so no one'd be confused..
(I still have the RF to do yet)

I get why one would get one. I think its probably worth it if money isn't an issue and you use it.
Id say in colder climates it's not really even a option than to do it. I spent about 30 minutes on the website checking all the units and it impressive.
This is more about where my brain is. When a cancer doc tells you 1 to 2 years left and go through a divorce your brain freezes. I walked away with my dog and my truck.
Money and possessions seem pointless at that moment. I guess my point is EVERYTHING seems more expensive to me and its probably a mental disorder of sorts, Starting life at 55 at zero and 1/4 the person I was is a bit difficult but I'm grateful, very grateful.

Yep, I had that PT rear swaybar on my Larry for about a year.
I had it set on tight and it worked very well for me..no real complaints at all, other than that the PT bar doesn't have position locators like the OEM, Eibach, etc..although, I definitely couldn't tell or see any indication that the bar moved side-to-side at all.
I mainly replaced it to have the Eibach silver color of the swaybar match the Fox/Eibach and new Eibach rear coils that I have..the Eibach does have those locators, and nice black anodized billet axle clamps.
I didn't have to axle disconnect links, so no insight there, but the swaybar was very nice..if I hadn't been swapping shocks, struts, springs..I'd still be running it. Also, the medium gray color did look good on my GCM truck.
