FIX for me was to remove panel on tailgate, remove 4 screws to get camera out, installed a sheathed wire behind clip, and reinstalled plug to back of camera.
Background
Blue screen showed up starting camera unavailable, like so many before me. Unfortunately, the only "fix" I found was to give it to RAM to fix under warranty or reset radio by pressing power and tune buttons for 20 seconds. Since my truck is out of warranty and reset didn't work.... Completed fix above since my connector wasn't all the way in the camera and popped right off.
First picture has red arrow pointing to where I put the small wire with sheathing. Sorry I didn't take pictures, decided to write this hours after fixing it. My connector had masking tape on it. It appeared someone thought that would keep the connector in place. I figured it would happen again unless I put pressure on the locking tab, hence the wire with sheathing.
I hope this fix works for others and please let me know if clarification is needed.
