Ram Pulls The Plug On It’s All-Electric Ram 1500

Focus Shifts to Extended-Range Ram 1500 REV

Ram has made a significant change in direction. Stellantis has confirmed that it will no longer move forward with a fully electric pickup for the U.S. market. Instead, the company will put its weight behind its range extending electric vehicle (REEV) version of the Ram 1500, a truck it believes better fits the needs of American buyers.

If they had delivered it this year as originally planned, I'd have one right now as a replacement for my 4XE Wrangler.

i would take the extended range over the hurricane everyday and twice on Sunday. the fit and finish on the bottom of the steering wheel in the video is horrible. they let that in the promotional video?? really.

Range extender is the only way to go. I've been using a Ford Lightning for the last month and the ONLY drawback to it is the range, especially while towing the enclosed trailer. If it had range extending tech it would be the perfect truck.

When Ram gets the range extended version of their truck to market, it will be amazing. I can't wait.

I've been following the development of both the REV and Ram Charger for a couple years now. But the name of this article was confusing to me. It says Ram cancelled the EV 1500, which they were calling the REV, and then it says they're shifting focus to the extended range Ram 1500 REV. It isn't until most of the way through the article that you find out they changed the name from "Ram Charger" to "extended range Ram 1500 REV". I'm sure they have their reasons, but changing names can be confusing to their customers.
