I can hear my neighbors Chevy Trail Boss with DuraTracs coming from a 1/4 mile away!New to me 22 rebel with 27k miles and original tires. Never had the duratracs before.
They seem pretty loud at this point. Is that normal for this mileage on these?
So what did you replace them with and how are those ones? When I do it is likely going to a 34” tire, maybe 35s, but not a fan of wide tires, more of a skinny tire guy like I do with my wrangler. As H20 said above - they are loud to start. and get worse. I ran mine to 64k miles and they were stupid noisy.
Look at Falken Wildpeak AT4W, Great tire and low noise. I'm running 285/65R20 34.6X11.2

Might get lucky with Labor Day sales and grab for a good price.Nice! I was just looking at those in 35x11.5 18 and glad to hear they are quieter!

KO3's stock size. I really like 'em. Much quieter, smoother ride and IMO look awesome with the white letters. So what did you replace them with and how are those ones? Fresh Duratracs have a mild hum at highway speeds since they are a hybrid AT/MT type tire. They will get louder especially if they weren't rotated often enough during their life.
Almost any other tire in the A/T range will be much quieter. The only issue is the air pressure setting. The Rebels due to having Duratracs have a factory 55F/45F psi setting, however most other tires will likely need to have lower air pressure range 35 - 45 or so. If you do that, you will get a TPMS warning on your dash, and will need a programmer to change it.
So your choices will be to either run a higher pressure then needed to keep the TPMS warming from going off, or live with the TPMS warning on your dash, or buying a programming to change it, which will be the ideal option.
Very true..I'm running my 285/60R20 Bridgestone Dueler AT Ascents at 39psi F and 35psi R and I can hear a bit of road/tread noise from the rears that fades as the tire psi rises as they get hotter..at 37psi quieter and at 39psi it's quieter yet.
I've debated raising the rears to 39psi cold to quiet the rears, but ultimately the noise is minimal and the lower rear psi is more comfortable, so leaving it until I swap in the Fox 2.5 PE DSCs..and then probably readjust the tire psi to dial in the ride.
I've found over my years of experimenting with many cars, trucks, cycles, etc..that tires, and tire psi are often overlooked but very important.
These Rams needs frequent rotations..every 5000 mile with oil/filter change for me.
Great comfort! Nicely quiet! Don't pick up any stones at all! Excellent steering & handling! Very nice looking, to me, and VERY happy! How do you like the ascents? Are they reasonably quiet? Do they an aggressive enough look for you?
