My new 2025 Dodge BigHorn Crew Cab with 6 Cylinder Twin Turbo doesn't play my USB Dongle that is loaded with
GOSPEL Music. I leave the USB Plugged in 24 Hours a day. When I start the truck, the LED is on the USB Flash
Drive, so It is seen by the Truck on the USB Port USB1. I go to Music and Select USB1 and I hear a CLICK. It's like
the Audio is going to play the USB's Music. I scroll down my DASH and the MUSIC is ALWAYS MUTED. If I un-Mute
it, it appears as if it is going to play, but instead it now says NO DEVICE DETECTED. But, the USB LED is still
"ON" and Further Clicking on USB1 does nothing. The ONLY way to listen to my GOSPEL Songs is to REMOVE the
FLASH DRIVE, then Plug it in, and REPEAT the Above Process. Now, when I enable the MUTED MUSIC it starts
Playing, and continues until I power off the TRUCK.

Obviously, some ENGINEER DID NOT TEST the Functionality of the USB PORTS, and Let a BUG slip through the system.
Why isn't AM, FM, and SIRUS, ALSO MUTED when I select therm? But, no it's just the MEDIA Player. Who Designed this
CONJURED UP SYSTEM, and DID NOT TEST it? It should take less than 2 Minutes to see the ISSUE. Go try it!

Is there a way to use AlphaODB and correct the ISSUE? How Many Years of Unplugging and Plugging my USB Flash Drive
is it going to be before I can properly listen to Gospel Music.

Everything else on the 2025 is GREAT. DON"T drive one unless you take your Checkbook.

Doesn’t Sirius have a Gospel channel?
Its easier if you have a Spotify account and play through CarPlay.

What's with all caps and ASAP? There's no fire and brimstone. No flood. No locusts. I'm not completely positive, but I thought some USB ports were charge only. Many things could be happening. Exploring the other options mentioned above might a better use of time. If not, sing a joyful noise.

Might be an improperly formated thumb drive that the truck is having issues reading. Corrupt files for the music. Not sure why there was a need to specify the type of music you listen to, as if that had any effect on whether the truck will play the files

Always heard that u-connect was a god-less system, sounds like we now have some more evidence...

But seriously, I'd recommend trying a different thumb drive with only a few files and possibly a different USB port. In an ideal case an engineer would monitor the USB link for errors to determine if the cause is related to HW or SW, but you will probably never see this level of service and definitely not at a dealer. If you can prove the music can play on a different port, then you have a chance to get the dealer to swap out the hub. If it works in one of the dealership vehicles but not yours, then they may even consider replacing the head unit. I designed automotive USB hubs and was a specialist for documenting usb issues. I doubt the problem was lack of testing of the SW or the system. You probably just have a compatibility issue or a failing USB component in the vehicle (including cables).

Thanks for your INPUT, I don't use Sirus, AM, FM or Spotify. I am OLD school. MY two
SDcards plugged into my USB ports on my 2020 Eco- diesel Tradesman 2WD Quad Cab worked Perfectly.
I have no reason to believe that my USB Adater is damaged because I run Debian Linux and Xubuntu
Linux on two Laptops, and it either plays flawlessly. SO, When I USE CAPS, I am NOT SCREAMING
I am making a POINT that this was not TESTED, and a two Minute test by any ENGINEER or Dodge
Technician, can easily duplicate the problem and plainly SEE the Problem.

None of the 5 above Responses Even tried to see if they worked. They all used the SHOTGUN approach to
to troubleshoot. As an Electronic Technician, trouble shooting Diaper Lines, I know how to use test equipment
and trouble shoot a Line Problem

My Other Choice of Music is DOO-WHOP or 60's OLDIES. The same problems exist with any USB. Flash Drive.

I hate to be NASTY, to get my point across, but ya'll arent listening. You are assuming I am incorrect.
Drive over and I'll let you do some troubleshooting yourself. I'll buy your Burger at Schinders!

I'm in SE Missouri the RECLAIMED CYPRESS SWAMP, and welcome you with OPEN ARMS. It shouldn't
take you 2 minutes to decide there MIGHT be A PROBLEM. And you might learn something in the process......

If you want to get attention from @RamCares, you need to tag them like I just did, and/or send them a Direct message. You can't just shout at the wind.

You posted in Powertrains and this has nothing to do with the powertrain.
What size radio head Uconnect do you have?

Reply with the correct UC model and we can move the thread to the correct forum and it might receive a bit more attention.

If you are so good at troubleshooting, the. You'd realize my suggestion was valid. Just because the media worked on your old 2020 with different canbus architecture doesn't mean the formatting or type of music file is accepted by the new truck. Technology changes and isn't always backwards compatible.

Yeah, that did jump the rails a bit, but there were some comments buried in there that might provide a clue to your problem. Some of it was that with other options, was it worth the scratch.

Not all USB ports are the same. Especially between model years. Some serve different purposes and function differently.

I do think comments were made in jest. Just didn't seem that way. Try some of the suggestions and share your findings.

Gentlemen,
THANKS for your assistance/input/feedback. I'd like to apologize for posting in the incorrect area, and not knowing
there was a specific area for the Media Player. I assumed it pertained to the Hurricane SO area.

I've contacted RAMCARES with a Direct message, but so far no response. I'm also in contact with Brutal_HO
via direct Message to see if he has suggestions/ideas for a 2025 with 12" Screen. Truck was located in
Hammond, LA 375 miles from my Dealer in Millington, TN (3 hours from home)

Unfortunately, I won't be posting or communicating with this Forum's folk in the future, so you are likely to never
hear/learn of a solution.

Seems you have a hard time accepting suggestions. Not sure exactly what you were looking for. There were quite a few valid replies with constructive input about possible issues. But you have dismissed most of them without thought. Good luck in your journey.

I'm just trying to help moderate and guide you into the right place. Please don't PM me for technical advice, I can't help you with UC5 issues as I own an older HD truck.

For the benefit of the forum in general , help and issue resolution needs to happen in the forums, not via DM's. If you're not willing to cooperate and share, then perhaps this forum is not suitable for you.

Best suggestion so far: (try a fresh drive formatted FAT32)

My USB I used to use with my F150 didn't work on my 2025 ram. I needed to format a USB with FAT32 and put the songs on that.

Sorry, too far to drive, but if you have a TotalPhase or Lecroy usb log captured when the issue occurs I'd be happy to look at it to help recommend a path. Ideally these should be collected at the head unit USB port connector. My focus was to verify there is no data corruption occurring due to a hub or cable in your vehicle which is often hinted at by a three strikes failure. Best wishes in getting this resolved via Ram.
