2025 Ram 1500 Current Owners - Discussion, Feedback, and Problems

Interesting. What packages do you have and what does your build sheet say about PWU capabilities? Is there a line item that specifically outlines PWU? Approach lights?
I think, if you have passive unlock, you have PWU. I also think, A BCM update (if/when available) will fix all the PWU bugs

I cannot turn my HUD off and have it stay off.

I’ve tried turning it off and then even holding down the Memory 1 and Memory 2 buttons to save my profile.

It doesn’t seem to matter what I do. When I start the truck, the HUD comes on.

Any thoughts on how to turn it off permanently?

No idea how to get it to stay off. But a hack might be to move it all the way up or all the way down, so it’s out of your field of vision. ? Just a thought.

Late returning to the party, but my PWU doesn't work with the truck locked or unlocked. @StuartsFriend . . . the Uconnect option looks like what was posted in post #2375.

One last question.

I am just GUESSING that the PWU works in such a way as to prevent activating it immediately when you lock the truck and walk away. I.e. if you lock it by pressing the button on the door and start to walk away, you are still close to the truck. But, in that case, you wouldn't want PWU to immediately turn on the greeting lights and extend the power running boards.

So, my guess is that after you lock it, it waits until it detects that the key fob has "left the building" (so to speak). THEN, after the key fob has gone away, it will reset itself internally such that PWU will activate when the key fob comes back.

On that theory, the question is: Have you tested PWU where you are confident that the key fob has gone "out of range" of the truck after you locked it?

I've tried it six ways to Sunday. But, I will go out of my way to try again. I will make sure it's activated in UConnect, lock the truck, walk out of FOB range for some time (like the store), and return. I'll even make sure it's nighttime just in case that's also required for the lights (I don't think it is).

It won’t work, at least not consistently if at all.
I really think everyone with this issue needs a BCM update.
If Ram hasn’t released it yet, they will.

I discovered that my tailgate handle has an LED light inside of it after my greeting lights were fixed😀

I did all that and nothing.

That's annoying.

But, it wasn't annoying to me (when mine wasn't working) as not being able to turn my HUD off permanently...

LOL!! :D

So who's getting those awesome checks for performing quality assurance on $70K trucks?
I hate to say it, but my wife’s 2925 Honda Pilot has been error free. It was a minor update year too (albeit not a completely new electrical architecture….). It’s honestly a little embarrassing- as a Ram fan and an American.
