HOW TO: Add Digital Rearview Mirror

Here is what I have so far:
I'm working on is adding the Digital Rear View Mirror with 2 inputs and Forward Collision Warning / Adaptive Cruise Control to the Ram 1500 (my current regular mirror has both of those.

I also added the Backup Camera Kit (Which I think is the camera kit for on the trailer itself, but maybe it is the wiring for under the truck. Getting necessary components to go from the DRVM to the bumper of the truck is where I'm stuck. I added a trailer tow connector and a dual camera housing in this parts list, but wonder if I'm missing something.

Do you know if the backup camera kit below is all the wiring for on the trailer or the underside of the truck. If it is for the trailer, do I simply need another longer FAKRA cable to snake through (or possible multiple) to get from the DRVM to the Bumper where I'll install the tow port?

My Ram VIN is 1C6SRFJM7NN353467
The parts I have in my cart are (hyperlinks included):

Inside Rear View Mirror: 68519222AA
Center high Mounted Stop Lamp: 68551077AB
Back Up Camera Kit: 68527599AA
Trailer Tow Connector: 68532403AA
Trailer Tow Connector:
68532402AA

In the process of installing the mirror, 2022 RAM 2500, CHMSL and cable already fitted some time ago.
In the process of checking that the mirror covers from the original mirror will fit, found major differences.
Are there specific covers we need to use on a 2500 when fitting the DRVM?

Hey all. I wired up the mirror and brake light cam today and have the 24 foot R58 fakra female cable coiled up in the back bumper. Does anyone know what kind of plug the trailer camera kit uses to plug in? It looks like a kind of typical coax connector but I don't have space on the bumper where I can install it so I'm trying to just buy an adapter to fabricate something smaller but don't know what kind of connection it is.

Hello, I really was trying not to post a question on this but after 4+ hours of reading forums and sorting through part numbers I'm still confused.

I have a 2024 2500, and am very much regretting not buying the DRVM. My primary use is to have use of the rear view mirror while towing and with having a bed cap on. It seems like I have two options for adding it on after the fact.

Option 1: Buy a 2022 DRVM, buy two cameras that would normally mount in a CHMSL (one to mount on the bed cap and the other on the trailer), buy the appropriate length cables/adapters to get the camera's plugged into the mirror. Pro is that this is relatively straight forward and likely the most cost effective, just takes a bit of time and cable routing. Con is I don't get the DRVM 3.0 function and you have to deal with the error message that pops up when you start the truck.

Option 2: Purchase the 24 stock DRVM, purchase the extra camera control module that goes under the driver seat, purchase the trailer tow connector + trailer camera kit, somehow get everything hooked up and it's basically like it came from the factory that way once the appropriate settings are enabled. This would also require a purchase of the camera for the bed cap and a cable to get to that camera control module, but that seems pretty straight forward compared to everything else.

So the question is, have I summed that up properly and is option 2 even viable? I've gotten the most conflicting information on Option 2 especially with that camera control module. I would default to option 1, but I'm a little worried about the length of cable required to get from the trailer to the mirror for everything to work properly.

I believe you are referring to the female side of the connector that would normally be on the truck which sounds like it is entirely proprietary. I believe this post/page is relevant which I came across earlier: Adding camera to Digital Rearview Mirror . Jimmy07 talks about it half way down.
