Uconnect/sirius guardian - does it actually work?

Mine works perfectly. Only one time has the truck failed to start. Thought it didn't get the signal from UConnect, but turns out there was a message on the truck display when I got in that said "remote start canceled due to low fuel" I had forgotten that I needed fuel when I parked the truck at work in the morning, and FCA saved me a big hassle by being a great wingman (wingperson, wingthing?). How sweet is that?

I have a Pixel 3 XL and I have never had any issues with my remote start using the uconnect app. I have the Sirius XM Guardian and even though i park in the basement of a parking garage it is still able to start my truck without any issues. I just wish it would update the miles that are on the truck.

Im having the same issues as MJP and TrackDay. I have the 8.4 and my truck is an early build 03/18. I honestly think it could be a programming issue where the telematics module is going into low power or sleep mode. This could be done with a flash but I don't think an over the air update would work, besides if my truck is not receiving a signal when it's been off over 20 minutes the over the air would have to happen while I was driving.

I dislike that you can only use the Uconnect app if you have the Nav system on your vehicle :-(

I can use both and I have navigation on my system.

I don't have the NAV system so I cant use the app. I do have the remote start on my key fob but I had a chevy and could use the remote link app to start my vehicle from anywhere from my phone app. Just kinda miss that.

I have the nav unit and have not been able to get the app or the website to communicate to the truck at all. It shows up, but none of the commands do anything. No luck with phone support. Will be going back to the dealership soon and hopefully they can figure it out for me.

Keep us posted. I havent found anyone that knows what is wrong. I dont want to just start having the dealer swap parts yet either unless it will absolutely fix the problem.

There is a whole bunch of stuff you have to do to sign up your vehicle. First you have to register it with "https://www.mopar.com/en-us/services/uconnect.html". Make sure to use the exact same email that you used when you purchased your car or else you won't be a registered owner of the vehicle. Then it takes a little while for you to get your registration and sign up. There are not any instructions and normally the dealer is normally clueless about it. If you have the SiriusXM Guardian you might have to sign up with them as well.

It was such a blur when i did mine. It was easy after i figured out what i was doing. Working in IT this stuff sort of comes second nature and then i forget what i did.

**EDIT:
You can go here to get more info. At the bottom it mentions doing everything from your Truck

In order to use the Uconnect app with your vehicle do you need to buy the "Uconnect Access" Advantage Package for $149 per year?

I downloaded the app and signed-in but get the "There are no active subscriptions available" screen. Just trying to figure out if this is a feature I have and just need to enable or something extra I need to buy.

Mine came with an included subscription.
I have registered with mopar.com and updated everything they told me to do on the phone with guardian, but still, nothing works. I'll keep you guys posted once I get it figured out.

I've done all that and confirmed with Sirius today that I have an active account. I also had them try to remotely access after the truck was sitting for a day and it failed for them. Obviously something is going to sleep in the system.

I tried mine today after it has been sitting for 36 hours and it worked no problem. Does your internet and wifi work? Does the search function work in Sirius?

It is important to use exact email dealer registered with. I had same problem because dealer used old email they had when i purchased a chevy from the same parent 8 years ago. Once i registered using old email everything worked.

i was able to figure out using the forgot my password which kicked out a change password link.

Sirius confirmed my email was correct too. I signed up for free wi fi trial with ATT and it works. All other features of Uconnect work. Looks like a dealer item next visit which I dread.

Not sure if this helps but i received an email from RAM to confirm my account. The email came from "[email protected]". You could search your email for that and see if you got a confirmation email about setting up your uconnect. Good luck.
