Hi to all,
I would like to know if there is an alert that warns that the tailgate is open.
I ask because my nephew opened it with the button on the ceiling when the truck was stopped and I, who knew nothing, left with the tailgate open! ..... fortunately there was no load.
thanks for the replies

Depends on your year and trim, but you didn't mention any of that. My 2020 BH didn't have it enabled, but I enabled it with AlfaOBD. Others have tried and it didn't work because they didn't have the module.

My 2019 Rebel has it. Lights up in the EVIC.

I think the "door open" light on the dashboard should come on, but nothing comes on

There is 2 alerts. One animated that needs to be "okayed". And one that shows the tailgate like it does when the door is open. It's in the same spot as the doors.

It seems that starting in 2020 or 2021, they stopped activating that option on many models. My truck states that the tailgate open warning lamp is standard and I have the code associated with it, but I don't see alerts. I asked the local dealer about it and they stated that FCA disabled that feature for my truck.

Scottmoyer, ha ha... here it is. Who knows, here in Italy since the RAM is not imported, what will tell me the seller.

sorry ....
my truck is a 2022 limited 5,7 e-torque
Mine has it (23' Ltd). Red light on the upper left side of the cluster. Can't hit "ok" to turn it off, annoying when the tailgate is down due to carrying something longer than the 5'7" bed length.

ok thanks to all, I saw. I will look for an answer from the dealer.

P.S.: and I also saw it in the owner's manual

Mine has the aforementioned alerts, so perhaps your truck had it disabled?

As agreed, I'll update you on what the dealer told me.
He says that on my 1500 22'Ltd there is no warning light that comes on when the tailgate is open because it would be annoying if traveling with a protruding load.
Furthermore my RAM, although "made in the USA", was born with the specifications required for the EU market (here in Italy, rear protruding loads are allowed up to one meter and with adequate signaling).
I believe this argument is reliable.

Well, we all use it like that. I transport lumber all the time with it open. It's not annoying because there is only a light on and no alarm like with the doors. But I like having it because a few times it wasn't shut properly and opened up.
