S&B intakes are outstanding for filtration from my experience, have one on my 2021 Wrangler. It sees its share of non-pavement, and has for nearly 80K miles...always a S&B intake with no issues. The $3 question is; what do these filters do for REAL performance and like what one member suggested, one of these filters has the "dirt and grit" protection of a screen door. I'm not willing to let all "that crap" enter my engine for a non-measurable 3 extra HP!!!!!! Though they do LOOK good, when the hood is up.
From the various YT videos interviewing the RAM engineers about the RHO. They claim the peak hp doesn't change but the mid range power is increased over the other HO equipped models. The $3 question is; what do these filters do for REAL performance and like what one member suggested, one of these filters has the "dirt and grit" protection of a screen door. I was reading the K&N description forThe $3 question is; what do these filters do for REAL performance and like what one member suggested, one of these filters has the "dirt and grit" protection of a screen door. I was wondering that as well. I cant find anybody that has put it on and reviewed it yet though... only video I found so far was some guy reviewing Burger tuning software on this truck with the k&n intake as well. I was trying to listen if it made the BOV sounds louder thats more what im looking for with it haha...I was reading the K&N description for
50-1598
and they use the verbiage that this CAI produces GUARANTEED 41 HP that has been dyno tested. Not sure how true that is but well worth $400 if it's accurate.
In the video I could hear it too. Replacing the oem intake tube with silencer and having a large hole exposing the K&N air filter makes it noticeable.I was wondering that as well. I wish the S&B was available now.seems like guys are more impressed with the S&b filtering so I may just wait for theirs to come out at this point... but this HO turbo is so smooth they weren't kidding. almost as fun as my TRX was taking off.
There's a new picture of it on the engine on their website so it looks like its getting closer to coming out for us!I wish the S&B was available now.
Looks like their prototype mock up given the way the lid is fastened and the poor cleanup on the molding, but yeah def looks like they are getting close. There's a new picture of it on the engine on their website so it looks like its getting closer to coming out for us!
I found a vendor by using the S&B part number they mentioned it would be available in March. I guess they were being optimistic. For those of us patiently waiting for the S&B I reached out and heard back from them this morning. They said they hope to release the CAI sometime in the next 2-3 months……..
How does the K&N sound can you hear the turbos ? Is the air duct retained that goes next to the radiator?Well because I’m impatient I purchased the K&N and paired with the new Corsa exhaust. I’m very happy with it and no issues or codes as others have mentioned. Just take care to install the sensor in the correct orientation.
Yes it retains the inlet tube and you absolutely hear the turbos! No codes or errors. Perfectly happyHow does the K&N sound can you hear the turbos ? Is the air duct retained that goes next to the radiator?
I have no codes from the k&n intake on my HO as well, can hear the air flow definitely louder. if you're looking for that BOV Whoosh sound this doesn't add that really. there was a company making BOVs for these but guys were having CEL and issues With them so they removed them from market until its fixed... I did try the JB4 as well but had all sorts of issues with CEL and no boost. waiting to try new parts for the JB4 and see if it works correctly. if not I guess ill try one of those diablo cat6 units when they are available...Yes it retains the inlet tube and you absolutely hear the turbos!
