2022 Ram and less dust in cab

I thought I read a post somewhere that Ram did design a filter type apparatus to put over those cabin vents in the rear wall. they kind of snapped into place if I remember right from the inside. man, I don't remember where I read that now. but for sure would be a buzz kill I am OCD on having a clean truck.

Taking my truck into the local Dodge dealer for an update. I’ll find out exactly what they have in store.

I did change the cabin air filter. It was clogged to high heaven with dust and small debris – that’s on me! The change resulted in far more air volume when I press max AC, and less dust in the cabin – but there is still dust appearing .

I will have about 300 KM of gravel roads covered before I take it in tomorrow. A real life testimonial for them to see.

Just back from dealer. They performed S1923000044 Rev. F (found on internet):
- checked to see if cab body exhausters were sealing (they were)
- cab to bed horizontal seals (good)
- C pillar pockets = had gaps so resealed.
- floor seam resealed in corners.

(Can’t upload the service order). The Service department was quick and helpful. All under Warranty of course.

Hopefully this will minimize the dust intrusion as they term it! Good luck

Looking at the bulletin I posted above, 1 / I can t figure out how to get to some of it and 2/ did they change it and a what year? The bulletin should have corrected everything past 20-21-22 ?

Same issue here. 2024 Bighorn with dust out of control. I’m chasing a couple of retails to see what is going on. I will post what I find out! Signed, up north Dusty
It's the vents behind the rear seats. It's ridiculous this design hasn't been changed in so many years. I had to remove the rear seats and I actually duct taped furnace filters over those vents. Problem solved. I wish there was a better solution.

So I've been on and off this thread more than a few times hoping for answers on the dust issue. Finally bit the bullet and pulled the back seats out of the truck, removed the cover on the back of the cab, and thoroughly investigated this miserable dust issue. I found the pressure vents on the back were working well enough and weren't nearly as dirty as I was expecting. Under the carpet, however, was caked in layers of fine dust. Could have grown a plant it was so thick. Pulled back the carpet to find extra bolt holes (for different seat designs, I'm assuming) that were empty. No caulk, no bolt to cover it, no plastic cap. It is clear the dust comes pouring in through these 3 holes, as there are spots on the bottom side of the carpet where the dust caked into it. This is a 2022 1500 Laramie Crew Can, so perhaps the Limiteds didn't have this issue because those additional bolt holes were used for the fancier seats. Anyways, I filled the holes with caulk, covered them with Gorilla 100mph tape, and covered the rear pressure vents with HEPA filters from Amazon (caulked around those as well). Will see if this fixes the dust issue.

So did it solve the problem to your satisfaction?

So what's the verdict? Did that solve the dust problem? I have the same issue and it's very annoying.

Hi I have had two 1500s, a 19 and a 20 and they both leak dust around the back doors very bad. On the Ram website it mentions a new filtration system and less dust. I am curious if this actually took care of the problem for gravel roads for any of you who have a 22 and frequently travel gravel. I really don't want to switch to another brand again but I can't have anything in the backseat without being caked in dust. Thanks in advance.
I have posted about this also. I live 5 miles off pavement so gravel is a regular day. My 22 bighorn does not leak dust in while driving, but what I have notices, the dust builds up inside the upper rocker on the back doors. If I forget, and open the doors quickly (normally) I get a cloud burst and have to clean everything. I have contacted ram and suggested a new gasket design that is lower and keeps dust out of the jams.
I love the truck but the dust that collects in the bed and worse, the back doors is bad. I have had most brand of trucks since the late 1970s and this is a first.
