Does anyone else's ram tick when first started then silences a few minutes later?

Yes, it's most likely to happen after a short start-up or drive situations. Like turning on your truck cold to move a short distance and shutting off, you will almost always get that 2-3 second start-up tick on the next cold start. This is actually mentioned in the owners manual.

Also happens if you truck has sat for a while (several days), allowing oil to fully drain from the lifters.

Neither is considered an issue, and actually normal.

Yes, this is a true statement, and I avoid it as much as possible. If I need to move my tuck, I warm it up like normal then drive it a few miles, then I park it where I wanted to.

Yes this is correct also, but it has a different sound, a lifter tick has a sharp tick, like tapping on metal with a hammer. I thick Ram changed the casting, because you don't hear about exhaust manifold cracking in the newest MY's.
