I am getting a travel trailer this spring and interested in adding a backup camera to the trailer. There are lots of wireless options with displays but I would prefer to use the 12" UConnect screen. Are there options that use the Aux 1 or Aux 2 camera input?

I just had a customer trying to work this out today and we're exploring options. He's got a 23 Rebel 2500 with 12" screen, Aux 1 and Aux two.
Has the Tow Tech group as well as the 5th Wheel Prep pkg with the 12pin connection but NOT the Digital Rear View Mirror (which seems to be the best way to have a camera on a trailer)

I have the integrated brake controller and trailer menu pages ad well as aux 1 and aux 2 bit no additional port at the rear bumper. Seems like those 2 aux camera options in UConnect should be able to somehow link to a trailer camera. I may end up with a seperate screen for a wireless camera which seems crazy with that big screen.

I'm interested in this also, travel trailer rear camera feed on the 12 inch uconnect. Any update on this?

Haven't heard anything on this or a similar post about aux cameras. From what I've gleaned on the internet it seems the aux 1 and aux 2 are basically not used unless you have the very pricing trailer camera prep package from the factory or install OEM aftermarket.

This part gives you the option, to see the trailer camera on factory radio

This part will only give you the option if your truck has the trailer camera prep package ($590 option) and then have this part ($1,500 part) for a total cost of over 2k for a trailer backup camera. If like me you don't have the prep kit from the factory it is much more complex and likely expensive. Would be really nice to ha e a simpler and less expensive option to connect aftermarket trailer cameras to the Uconnect5 system.

Hi All

Thanks for the add in.
Picked a 2022 Limited 1500 DT fortnight ago and am in the same situation as others regarding caravan camera connection. Bit frustrating that with big 22in screen they could not add a clable and connection in on a Limited (Aus)
I am considering to get a RCA to 4 pin camera cable connection.

Only grey area is whether the Ram/Uconnect display is compatible with the Safety Dave camera.
Else woulg have to use a separate display screen.

I have a 2500 limited with the tow package AND the digital rearview mirror. When i plug the camera that i ordered from the dealer i to the 12 pin, nothing happened. Any resources?

I have a 2022 limited 3500 megacab with tow package and digital rear view mirror. Installed the Mopar camera system
on my 5th wheel. Travel over 15,000 miles last year , camera worked great.
heading out again this summer. Plugged in the connection to the port on the bumper. When unplugging it pulled the connection from the port out also. Had that replaced. Now pluged in the camera , (nothing) shows no connection at the plugin on thre mirror.
Has anyone had this problem or ideas on repair.

Product ID: 68527599AA This will work if you have the digital rear view and will connect to the #2 aux

68527599AA comes thru the 12 pin connector and displays on aux 1, if you have the factory 5th wheel prep and you are going to bumper pull you will have to crawl under the vehicle and on top of the factory bumper pull hitch is where you will have to change the connector from 5th wheel to bumper connection, I know these part numbers are for older trucks but work just fine. I have a 2024 RAM 3500 Limited and works well as I installed camera kit 68527599AA which is the surround camera setup. All the parts “guys” at Ram say there is no listing for the newer trucks but I took the chance and works excellent. Hope this helps others as dealership had no answer for connecting a camera to the uconnect 5.

And if you can find the correct faccra connector not sure on spelling let me know where and what number it is…..

Plug into other 12 pin connector have to change under truck on top of hitch , 12 pin doesn’t go to mirror the single connector goes to the mirror. 68527599AA Is the camera that goes into mirror

Appreciate the reply - I've since traded in my 23 for a 25 with the 12way/1way connectors on the bumper but not the digital rear view mirror. Still unclear what function those 2 ports serve as I don't have the trailer camera prep package but do have aux 1 and 2 camera buttons in Uconnect.

This is incorrect. 68527599AA plugs into the coax port on the bumper not the 12 pin, and displays in the digital rear view mirror, not on aux 1.
68527709AD is the trailer surround view camera kit.

Hi Jimmy,
Do you have the part number for the aux camera to display on uconnect screen? I already have the DRVM but would love to add a second camera to improve visibility when backing.
