re-installed powder coated tow hooks. Prismatic powders Illusion Light Blue with Clear Vision clear coat and it looks very similar to B5 Blue, trying to match the e-torque in the hood badge.

Correct. But this is quicker and easier, just have to jack up the truck and lube the threads to dial in the ride height.

i mean if you don't have access or ability to take the shock off then yeap it's easier but you run the chance of messing it up even with lubricant.

but if you have the ability to take the shock off then it's always better to take it off and do it with spring compressor so you have zero chance of ruining the threads. seen customers ruining their shocks because they tried to do it with spring tension on the preload adjustor using the adjustment tool lol

I have the Eibach adjustable coilovers, which are advertised as adjustable on the vehicle with a spanner.

They are steel bodies not aluminum.

Would you think there is risk adjusting those without a compressor (eg is the risk only to aluminum threads in your opinion)?

I lowered them a bit prior to install and it seemed easy.

I was thinking I should be ok lowering them further on the truck if needed, but wouldn’t expect to be able to heighten them without spring compressors, despite there being videos on Eibachs website showing heightening looking easy enough.

Is this knob needed to adjust the high speed to max because it gets harder to turn after a certain amount of clicks? I am getting my BDS 6 in with the Fox 2.5 Performance elite with DSC installed on the 18th and wanted to grab this tool if needed.

Well I’m a few days late, but Santa dropped these off after a couple custom touches to match my truck’s theme, I’ll be throwing them on. I helped install a set of 2.5” Kings last month and they handle everything pretty great - although maybe a little stiff for me. These Fox coilovers for the BDS 6” lift run a 2” longer coil with a lighter rate than the Kings and feature Dual Speed Adjusters instead of a single mid speed adjuster on the Kings. Plus I’ve heard Fox’s baseline tuning is a bit more plush than King’s for these trucks. So hopefully that means I’ll love these shocks! I’m still going to call around to professional shock tuning shops to see if they’d recommend any revalving or swapping coils to get maximum ride quality and performance before I install them. I wanted these for so long I rather pay a tiny bit extra to ensure I get my moneys worth. Buy once cry once haha View attachment 173713

I’ve never heard of some one removing and Installing and repeating to get the ride hight adjusted correctly. That’s a bit silly.

I’ve owned several different brands of coil overs. Simply taking the weight off the vehicle and the proper tool is all you need.

Unless it’s a cheap coil over like the rc ones or the fox 2.0

You have the Eibach coilovers? If so were they the same overall length as the OEM strut? I'm worried about extra travel when in full droop stressing the upper ball joint

No, this is the first vehicle I’ve had in a long time without them.

When I installed the lowering kit there weren’t any lowering coil overs on the market yet.
