Thinking about purchasing 2019 Ram 1500 ssv has 46,000 miles....4,042 idle .....589 run hours

Can I get any feedback

That's a hard pass for me, idle hours are extremely high. I'm certainly far from the lowest, but I have like 80 idle hours on my truck with 57,000 miles. Most of those are due to remote starts over 4 Canadian winters.

Lots of stories of Police 5.7's needing cams, lifters, etc. suspected to be from extensive idle hours, I think I'd run away from that truck unless it was priced VERY accordingly.
my $.02.

Wow my 2019 with 64,000 miles only has 92 idle hours. Although I don't know if that is really correct as it is etorque, would the meter still be running when the engine is off at a stop light? I hardly every idle or use remote start on the truck.

Thanks,

Thanks,

uh oh I better check my idle hours...I take calls on the way into work and then sit in the parking lot finishing the call while idling...keeping the AC going and call connected.

Do the math. 46000 miles in 589 hours gives an unrealistic average speed.

Steve
78 MPH. That's not normal, but not unachievable if it's all highway. Could be ex highway patrol unmarked. Idle forever, then fly after speeders. I've seen all sorts of unmarked vehicles.

This is a SSV 1500? This truck spent a lot of time waiting, and the rest was in drive with the gas pedal stuck to the floor. It's been rode hard and put away wet. Probably still has doughnut residue on the steering wheel

I'm betting that run timer (589) is listed wrong, that's a 78mph average. Anyone realize how fast you need to drive to have a 78 mph over 46k miles? Even for a police truck. Factor in all the time under the curve while accelerating to "speed". To offset 0-78mph, that truck would have had to consistently been driven over 115 mph

I wouldn't even consider that vehicle.
