Can't tell you yet if it's improved but it's different according to the brochure (and I think I heard one of the Ram engineers on a video i watched say it was redesigned)

From the brochure:

Completely unique to the light-duty segment, the automatic or driver-operated
Active-LevelTM Four-Corner Air Suspension System is available on all trim levels
(except Ram HFE). The system has been modified for 2019 Ram 1500, now
with a redesigned air supply unit in a single unit to increase capability and
reduce weight. It’s also been retuned for the new, lighter-weight frame and
chassis components.

They have updated it for 2019, while its still too early to tell how reliable it will be, hopefully they learned from previous issues in cold climates. Other than cold climates I haven't really heard of any issues with the outgoing air suspension.

If you lower the air suspension it automatically raises to normal driving position at 15 mph on my 2015 Limited. I would assume it does the same on the 2019. I live in a climate that is a regular 0-32 degrees (have a few days with 40+ degree thaws) all winter and never had an issue. FWIW

I have it on my 2014 Outdoorsman...4 years with no problems and this year I got the "Service Air Suspension" light. They changed the lines thinking that what it was. That was done in Feb then it warmed up above -10C and I haven't had it on since. Hoping to get my 2019 Rebel before the warranty runs out in November because I know changing the lines didn't fix it. Needs a new compressor/valve block.

Air suspension is a generic term. I have a Grand Cherokee with the air suspension and have confirmed that the system is actually charged with nitrogen. They use nitrogen since it's dry and is more consistent with temperature swings. Assuming the system was charged correctly then there should be no moisture to freeze. I have parked outside in sub zero tens for the last 3 winters now in the Great lakes area and no problems.

Hey OP I’m in the same boat pick up my 2019 rebel next week. Got the air suspension was excited then started reading about all these problems. Like you I’m hoping they have addressed the issue. I live in northern Ontario close to Manitoba border, it gets cold. I wouldn’t be happy with myself knowing you can now purchase them without the air suspension and regular coil shocks.

Do you mind if I ask where you heard they have fixed the issue? Anything to put my mind at ease.

I am exactly in Manitoba bud and my air suspension still work fine since we have cold weather here sometimes it is -40 with winchill. And ii keep mine in normal try not adjust up or down because sometime we have ice on suspension. But overall it is work fine untill now.

There's only a couple fan boys on this forum who prefer the steel over air. Air same ride characteristics but so much more adaptable and capable. I tow a Nautique G23 that's worth a **** ton more than my truck and some old fashioned springs without Adding helpers not gonna do it. One of the reasons went with this truck.

How fast can you go in Off Road? Oh, yeah, right, 15mph. How many lift kits available for air... 1?

It's tit-for-tat. Fan boys? No, just owners with specific needs. Just like the oldtimers with bad knees that love the entry mode. Would I call them air ride fanboys? No. Just owners with specific needs.

Carry on!

I must of hit a nerve? Anyway you don’t see me being negative in the steel suspension thread. Oh yes maybe start one rather than crying the blues everywhere else. Your the one posting negativity calling things gimmicks so if you want to play carry on.
