Hello I just purchased a 2021 RAM 1500 crew cab Big Horn not sure which package but I have power drivers seat and manual passenger seat. I wanted heated seats but the dealer didn’t have any but told me they can be added $500-$600. Has anyone done this? My wife has a Jeep and hers are controlled through the screen not a manual button, would this be the same in the RAM?
Thank you in advance

I think it can be controlled both by the screen icons as well as the buttons below the entertainment screen. When i remote start in winter, the button are always lit up to the highest setting. I've also pushed the button on the screen to turn them on as well. So if you can't get the screen buttons to work, you might take the button route.

Do you have a spot for them below the entertainment screen, like below?:

You'll probably need to take the whole entertainment stack out (there are good instructions on the forum here) and then see if this pops out to allow you to insert the seats buttons if you have blanks there.

Also, the matter of installing the heating element in the seat surface. I peeled away my passenger seat cushion cover and could see the element, but couldnt figure out how to get past the first crease. Felt like it was really wedged in there.

Have you purchased/installed it ?
I contacted my local dealer and he wanted to add a 3rd party heated seat in my truck with a little switch on the side of the seat... I want the oem style controls not some janky Asian stuff

OEM heated seats/wheel can be installed... don't think you'll find any dealer that will be willing to take on the task. You need the heat module, pads for front seats, new radio shroud that includes the seat/wheel buttons, wiring/connectors and programming... Got mine done except for the wheel, once I finish the rear heated seats I'll jump on finishing the steering wheel swap...

@FM45 Just starting the Auto climate control mod to my 2022 1500, I have a new shroud on order which has Auto AC controls as well as heated seats. Been wanting to do this mod before I upgrade to Katskins. Do you have any more info on what you did to add the heated seats to the front?

I think I did a write-up on adding Auto Climate as well as another for adding the Heated Seats... Let me see what I can dig up.. search my sig for my posts, you should find something useful.. I will also search my server once I get back home...
FYI -- I would purchase the oem seat pads, backs and the seats new wiring harnesses ... have them installed at the same time as your leather --- IF your planning the OEM look

Follow up for some part numbers and more info -- these are from a 2019 but I can't imagine much have changed up until present, but always check for compatibility... All OEM numbers--

Heater pads--
Seat 68309557AC qty. 2
Back 68309556AB qty. 2

Seat wiring-- Drivers side 8 way powered w/non memory
68360527AD
68360516AD

Seat wiring-- Pass side non power
68377531AC
68377532AB

Heat module-- Pass side.. mounted/attached to seat base
68433906AC

You may get lucky and your Ram might be pre-wired up to the seats--- Large yellow plug under each seat-- you must check what wires it may or may not have... Lucky me, I had to add my own wiring... Use the supplied link, enter year and make..

Look for XY410A and XY420A... those are large yellow plugs and compare what might be missing and add as needed...

I used AlfaObd for programming... and the seats work as advertised in the owners manual.
Adding the heated seats is not hard, just time consuming... Good luck, your Butt and Back will thank you ;)

I haven't actually dug into my wheel but the module that is used for heated seats is also used for the wheel... when doing the wiring for the seats, i would also add the wiring from the module to column.. you'll need a new wheel with heat, pins and plug, and then programming...

Awesome write up my friend. So i upgraded my cloth seats to leather katskins and added all these harnesses and module for a factory install. I have enabled the bcm for heated seats and all good up to there.
But then I noticed I was missing 4 wires on the yellow plug.
Since you had the same scenario, do the missing wires get ran from yellow plug to yellow plug? Seat to seat?
If so, what are those pins for the yellow connector called so I can purchase them? Or maybe you can direct me to where I can purchase them.

Thanks for all your work.

I've looked everywhere for the heated seat how-to write, can't find it anywhere... I will get another one together, it's just going to take a little..

@ ...Ram76 -- yes, the drivers seat YP (yellow plug) is wired to the pass seat YP, then wiring goes from the pass seat YP goes back to the fuse block, can block and steering wheel -- optional for heated wheel ...

@tabber02 ... yes and no, I did have my shop drop in the heat pads, module, and seat wiring. I just got to remove the center console to change the harness and add the rear buttons to the end cap. Also have to create a harness that comes from the rear module to the fuse box and as well as the can block... I'm close yet so far away... If you're looking for part numbers let me know and I can post them up...

So I would need to wire from seat to seat whatever wires are missing plus wire from passenger seat to fuse block?

Yes.. to Fuse box and to the Can junction block.... unless your body wire harness already has them presently...
If I remember correctly, you'll need 3 or 4 power wires and a pair of twisted wire for the data...

I'm trying to add heated seats and steering wheel to my 2022 Big Horn with Level 1 Equipment Group. Are the part numbers you listed for DT (new body style)? Do you have wiring diagrams and pinouts? That would be really helpful. Also, I investigated yesterday and my clock spring has the cavity, but not the pins for heated wheel. I'm trying to find part number for the required clock spring, and wiring diagram for it too. Thanks, Brent

@brental1 --- I'm re-writing a how-to for the seats, I'm at the station for my 24 hr shift -- it will be posted once it's ready... as far as the heated wheel, you'll need a new clock spring and the wheel, haven't done mine yet but it is on my list..
