Yeah it definitely is permanent! Gotta cut the bedsides, obviously remove the bumper and most likely cut the frame or hitch receiver and reposition it, relocate the exhaust to either dump out underneath the truck or do a bed exit, then have a new “bumper” made. If money wasn’t an issue I’d already have it done lol but for (I’m guessing) around $2000 it’s just hard to pull the trigger. If I did, I’d do a little less aggressive of a dovetail and then have basically a metal rollpan fabbed up instead of a tube bumper and paint match it so everything just looks flush back there. I’ve dreamt of doing that ever since I got the truck 3 years ago and I’ve still never seen anyone do it haha.

And yeah I really would like true polished wheels but man they look like junk pretty quick if you don’t keep up polishing them so I think chrome powder coat would probably be the way to go - unless someone has a really good reason why I shouldn’t do that haha

This is the only 5th gen I've seen with a dovetail, but they left it with no bumper. I think it looks pretty clean! I'm just going to have a hard time finding a rear bumper that'll match my front bumper and go well with a dove tail. A tube bumper would not match my front bumper.

I've pretty much modeled my truck close to this one 😅 IMG_20200710_194541.jpg IMG_20200710_194518.jpg

Looked at what was once shiny. I hate this time of the year. When it randomly gets warm outside and I open my garage door. My cold soaked garage makes it basically rain

During winter break I did my oil change(went back to Valvoline, I was not a fan of the Penzoil Plat), cleaned the interior(kids are discussing) and my new personalized plates finally came in :)

*I know I have the dent in the bumper, I am just being lazy about getting it fixed :ROFLMAO: *

I have a heater for when I’m
Working in the garage. But when it’s 60* outside and the floor is still 32*. Not much you can do to prevent this.

I keep my garage at 50 degrees in winter. Bump it up to 65-70 when I'm working out there. No need to let it get that cold. But other than the doors, my garage is insulated just as well as the rest of house

Yeah this isn’t my forever house. So ether pay to insulate the garage. Or buy another motorcycle. I always choose motorcycle, I had to resort to moving some of them to the shed.

This isn't mine either. Luckily the original owners spent a lot of money when the house we built with upgrades. Garage is insulated and drywalled. But not painted. I added the heater in 2021. French doors front and rear. Real hardwood floors on main level. Viking appliances.... But then never finished the basement. Which I am working on slowly. Have a finished bathroom, store room, and gaming room. Just need to finish the main part.

Next house will have a two car attached for the daily vehicles. And a three car detached for toys. Per my wife. As her car stays outside at the moment lol

That's my plan for the dream house. Not sure if it will be the next house. :-/

I want to get an acreage with at least a 40x60 outbuilding with heat and 240 electrical service. By that time all the kids will be on their own so a smaller 3-bedroom would be sufficient with a 2-3 car attached garage.

Great idea. That’s what I did (shop) and never want to go back to one two car garage. When we built our house, we actually designed one part of the garage to be longer so I could park my truck inside.

That’s what we did. You’ll love it. I don’t regret it one bit (2 acres, house and 35x45x14 steel building).

If I wait long enough, can just buy my parents place when they get too old. No attached garage, but 7 acres and a large outbuilding my dad had built for his tractors. Which I will end up with a few of
