Happy Birthday USA

How many of you call this The 4th of July vs Independence Day?

I go with Independence Day. Just wondered.

I posted a couple of fun facts for my production meeting last Monday in preparation for the upcoming holiday week. Not surprisingly many people did not know these couple simple things.

Our Independence was declared on July 2nd. The written declaration was ratified on the 4th. John Adams missed the mark as he thought we would celebrate the 2nd in a letter he wrote to his wife.

John Adams and Thomas Jefferson were the only two signatories of the declaration to become president.

Both died the same day. July 4th 1826.

The statue "Liberty Enlightening the World" also known as the Statue of Liberty, has the date July 4, 1776 engraved in the tablet she is holding.

In 1870, Congress made July 4 an official but unpaid holiday.

In 1938 they changed it to a paid holiday. (I gave condolences to the boss on that one 😁)

Happy Independence Day all!
