5.7 etorque 3:21Just put 510 miles on my truck
my gas mileage is only 12.6 mpg
sure hope it gets better.
anyone have any comments???
The eTorque option on your 2022 Rebel did not cost $2295. It's a no cost option now.My 2022 Rebel with 5.7 Etorque, 392 gears, currently 3300 miles on it, averages no better than 16.5. 50% city, 50% Highway. Awful! I have been driving it extremely conservative to see what I could squeeze out of it. On an hour and a half trip on the highway, the best it reached was 18.6. I drove my 2017 Ram 5.7 HARD and would average 17.5. As far as I'm concerned, the Etorque is a total scam! Its supposed to get you 1 mpg more than the regular 5.7. The etorque option is $2295. If you drive 15K miles per year and get 1 more mpg, it would take 13.5 years to recoup the cost of the etorque option based on todays gas prices!

It was a $1200 option for my '19, a $200 option on my dad's '20, and now it's "free".The eTorque option on your 2022 Rebel did not cost $2295. It's a no cost option now.
Thats what was on the window sticker. Either way its a scam. It does not get you 1 more mpg.The eTorque option on your 2022 Rebel did not cost $2295. It's a no cost option now.
$2295 is the upgrade price for the 5.7 Hemi, not eTorque.Thats what was on the window sticker. Either way its a scam. It does not get you 1 more mpg.
The amount of fuel savings you get from the etorque system is directly related to the amount of stop and go traffic you drive in. If most of your driving is highway, you will see little to no increase. If you have a lot of long stop lights or drive in stop and go traffic, you will see an increase in fuel economy as long as the stop/start is enabled and working correctly.Thats what was on the window sticker. Either way its a scam. It does not get you 1 more mpg.
My dad had a 2001 GMC 2500HD with the 8.1L gasser. 10 mpg unloaded and 6 mpg towing...but that 496 was a b-e-a-s-t.I'm getting 14 mpg
a little city streets and a little freeway while in break in
my old 1995 ram with a 5.9 got 9 mpg
