Nope, you're the first one with bad gas mileage.

Brand new truck. Fuel economy should improve as the engine breaks in. Winter driving affects fuel economy as well. Mine went from initially around 13 mpg last May, when it was new, to almost 16 mpg in September. Winter driving has brought it back down to less than 14 mpg currently. I expect it to improve again with the weather later in the spring and summer.

I must have the lucky truck! 5.7 etorque sorry about mistake above. I have 3:92 gears running 93 octane gas from Costco. First oil change was at 2250 miles second one was at 6258. Next one will be at 11g ish.

My 2022 Rebel with 5.7 Etorque, 392 gears, currently 3300 miles on it, averages no better than 16.5. 50% city, 50% Highway. Awful! I have been driving it extremely conservative to see what I could squeeze out of it. On an hour and a half trip on the highway, the best it reached was 18.6. I drove my 2017 Ram 5.7 HARD and would average 17.5. As far as I'm concerned, the Etorque is a total scam! Its supposed to get you 1 mpg more than the regular 5.7. The etorque option is $2295. If you drive 15K miles per year and get 1 more mpg, it would take 13.5 years to recoup the cost of the etorque option based on todays gas prices!

Mine went up some but not a whole lot.

I get about 15 mpg average on winter blend and 16 mpg on summer blend. As ferraiolo1 said, driving habits play a lot into that (in addition to location, road materials, weather, etc.).

If I really pay attention and anticipate things I can maybe add .5 mpg to the totals above. If I just have fun then subtract .5 mpg from those totals. If I'm feeling "frisky" I can easily drop into the 13's for economy 😉.

The eTorque option on your 2022 Rebel did not cost $2295. It's a no cost option now.

It was a $1200 option for my '19, a $200 option on my dad's '20, and now it's "free".

I drive a fair amount of highway for my work commute which keeps my MPGs "up". Weekend driving, grocery runs, etc., are all short hops and sucks down the fuel sitting at stop lights, navigating around parking lots, and waiting in traffic. I'm pretty sure the eTorque would compensate my economy during those operations.

It's a "mild hybrid" system so is not going to benefit everyone. My dad does almost nothing but short hops with some occasional jaunts on the freeway and I'm sure his mileage would be way worse without the eTorque (he's around 12-13 MPGs overall).

Thats what was on the window sticker. Either way its a scam. It does not get you 1 more mpg.

The amount of fuel savings you get from the etorque system is directly related to the amount of stop and go traffic you drive in. If most of your driving is highway, you will see little to no increase. If you have a lot of long stop lights or drive in stop and go traffic, you will see an increase in fuel economy as long as the stop/start is enabled and working correctly.

I just made a trip from Wi to Fl and got 19.2mpg. I drove 76 most of the way except in large metros drive with traffic (80). I have a 2020 big horn 5.7 with 3.92 rearend. I am pleased with that. My worst mileage was in Illinois where I got 16 pretty much entire state.

I'm getting 14 mpg
a little city streets and a little freeway while in break in

my old 1995 ram with a 5.9 got 9 mpg
My dad had a 2001 GMC 2500HD with the 8.1L gasser. 10 mpg unloaded and 6 mpg towing...but that 496 was a b-e-a-s-t.
